There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Can anyone help me understand the status for the initial investors? I understand that livenet didn't launch, but are we supposed to have our tokens yet? I don't see any clear information around that, the OP has clearly not been updated, yet I see some pre-trading on some exchanges - how do we claim our investment?

We are waiting currently to get our tokens.

The trading you see are all IOUs.

Just took a look to the new forum. Another logo version? Serious?

Your corporate design/identity skills are horrible. You got already professional advice from other members. Why you not listen?
In the forum it also say that the logo will be announced soon. So they did actually listen, its just not their main priority right now.

The devs should remove that logo from the top of - http://heatledger.net/index.php?action=forum - and promise they will have zero say in which design should win the contest over there. Trouble is votes can be manipulated so I recon the devs intend to choose a winner which should be a giant fiery red flag to any investors. The only solution I see is to cancel that logo contest seek out a real world professional designer outside crypto land who will start by sweeping all the devs logo ideas into a fire bucket soak liberally in petrol and roast marshmallows relaxed in the full knowledge a logo catastophy has been narrowly avoided.

Two topical issues:

  1. Start of mainnet (an alpha the client and the test network are already interesting to nobody, there are no questions at a forum, all changes are made, the last updating on github - Updated 9 days ago, at people don't maintain nerves, there was a discharge of HEAT on C-CEX and alcurEX yesterday).HuhHuh?? - When.
 2. heat-ui the client for VPS?

The devs have never said there will be a vote. They said they might hold an advisory vote so manipulating it would be pointless.

Also some of the peole submitting designs actually have marketing/design backgrounds.

i dont wanna spoil anything but ... 11 days remaining till Ardor tokens distribution to NXT acounts.

at ICO time i was so Heat'ed up , i had some bits of BTC and more NXT tokens. So i bought with NXT. after transaction my thoughts were: oh shit its a good plan , they have now 6 mill nxt tokens, so.. ~6mill ardor. wow, why i dont came up with that idea first to make some project, like to collect lots of nxt to aquire ardor. and later i would say sorry guys, here is your nxt , i will send back it to you. sorry pls... but i would have all the ardor tokens! Smiley

Nice work regarding design!

However it should be noted that HEAT is not primarily a currency. It's the public ledger infrastructure. The token unit functioning on the HEAT public decentralized ledger is also called HEAT.

that was the last status report.

professional marketing would be too expensive i think, otherwise they would look for a pro doing the branding.

i dont like the logo, its looking retro from the 90ies.

OP preliminary schedule part updated.

We were 20 days late from preliminary schedule for the alpha client. Although it felt like a very long time, in retrospect I find that pretty well.

Something similar just happened with SingularDTV.

Crowdsale sold out $7.5 million in 15 minutes earlier today, at an ico price of about ~0.00002470 btc

Then a few hours after crowdsale, some noob dumped it down to 0.00000079 btc on bittrex.

0.00000079   1404730.94912786   1.10973744

The final sell order in the dump was the worst.  Sold a chunk he paid 34.7 btc for earlier that day for 1.1 btc a few hours later

I think it might be noobs throwing money into stuff without any calculation.  Then they're not really familiar with exchanges, so they're just looking at the "SUM" column then pulling X number of btc out of it without regard for the price they are selling at.
