Thanks

Hi Bitbook. I love your site but there is something little that has been bothering me. I bet a lot of college basketball games, but there is no consistency in the way the home and away teams are presented. For example, tomorrow there is NC State vs. Wake Forest with the NC State line (home team) being posted on top of the Wake Forest line (away team). In the next bet however, Notre Dame vs. Clemson, the Clemson line (away team) is being posted on top of the Notre Dame line (home team).

This has been confusing as the top line is always the away team and the bottom line is always the home team everywhere else, but on your site it seems to be randomly fluctuating. This can be quite confusing when scrolling through the list of games.

I believe when you look at the title it is presented as "HOME vs AWAY (Sport)"

No I have also noticed, the home vs away teams seem like they are randomly on there.  Sometimes first, sometimes second.  It happens in soccer too I think.

Please grade Kleybanov (women's tennis).  Cibulkova withdrew.

I would strongly encourage people to stay away from this book as 18 BTC was tossed onto a random bet a couple days ago on my account. I have bet over 700 BTC on this site in the past 3 weeks on Bitbook and I cash out and in on a daily basis. However, I have a strong feeling that someone went into my account on the backend and tossed 18 BTC on a random bet. I emailed bitbook immediately when the bet was placed and they claimed there was no evidence of any misconduct. Clearly someone got a hold of my account and I never log on from any other computer than my own. I have heard of similar situations on this site as there are many protection flaws in the system. I have since been putting action through other sites and been happy.

Has anyone else had this experience?  I'm just checking as 1 person does not make a pattern but if it's more than 1 I might think about doing something about it.  Thanks.

I have 28 emails back and forth with bitbook email. I have been in BTC since it was dollars and I have hundreds. I have no reason to bring forth a bogus claim. Bitbook can confirm this email was sent to me. If anyone tells me how to post a screenshot on here I will send a screenshot of the email.

"We apologize if our previous message was confusing. Your account was not accessed by another IP, and we have no evidence of foul play on our side, or of any security breach.

We value you very highly as a user and we want to do what it takes to satisfy you and retain you as a user. Please understand that this puts us in a tough position - we have no evidence of any error on our end, and if you had won this bet we would have paid your winnings in full, no questions asked.

We've been discussing this situation at length, trying to find a solution that is both fair to you, and also feasible for us. Normally we cannot refund bets unless we are notified of an issue before the matches start, but we would like to make an exception in your case, because we value you so much as a user. After much thought, we have decided to make an exception and offer the following: we will give you a bonus equal to a full refund of the bet (฿18.71), if you continue to stay as a customer of ours. In the past 3 weeks you have bet ฿700. If you bet another ฿1000 we will then send you a bonus of ฿18.71, fully refunding this bet."

After 18 BTC was dumped onto a random play, they are trying to tell me it is necessary to bet 1000 BTC before I get my money back. Not to mention if you read it says I have bet 700 BTC in 3 weeks. Clearly they are trying to pull something. And I am up a lot of BTC from betting on bitbook. Why would I bring forth a claim like this when I am up. I am not trying to bash the site whatsoever. I am simply telling everyone that their funds might not be as safe as they think and to survey other books as I have done.

i can see bitbooks point here (if there is no indication that your account was accessed by someone different they have to act as they did)...
otherwise every big punter tries to get a refund for a lost big bet once in a while Wink

Therefore I even think their offer to compensate you is quite generous.

Simply try to view the situation also from their point-of-view for once.

of course I also understand your frustration, but I think that there isn´t much that bitbook can do
without giving people with bad intentions a possibility to exploit them  Sad

First of all I would never post a bogus claim about what was once my favorite book. I still to this day place about 30-40 BTC of action per day, just not through bitbook. Clearly they are lying about their investigation because I have accessed my account from more than IP's as I have two homes. They are not being exploited at all considering they know exactly what happened with my account. They say there is no evidence, but things like this dont randomly happen without any explanation. I had 65 BTC on the superbook a week ago. 18 BTC is not a big deal, but that deal they offered me is very suspicious. Looks as if they wanted to lock me in to heavy action in order to earn my stolen BTC back. Take it for what you want, but a 18 BTC bet was placed on my account and I when I initially saw the bet that night, I emailed them and didnt get an initial response for about 16 hours.

We try to deliver an exceptional experience to all users and in this case we made a special effort to go above and beyond in resolving an unusual circumstance. We are disappointed that nscala1 was not satisfied by our suggested resolution. Because this matter has been made public we will share the facts from our perspective:

  • At 3:31am on Feburary 8th (all times in UTC) a bet was placed on The Toronto Raptors +6.5 over the LA Clippers
  • At 3:35am the match began
  • At 5:39am we were sent a message indicating that there was a bet on the user's account which they did not recall placing
  • Several hours later we saw the message and asked the user which specific bet it was, and were told it was on the Raptors against the Clippers. At this point we conducted a thorough investigation trying to identify any evidence of an error or possible foul play. We did not find anything suspicious.

From our perspective the bet looked no different from a misclick, a bet placed while drunk, or a bet placed by someone else on an open browser window. Given that we would have paid winnings had the bet won, we had a long discussion about how to best handle this situation. We decided that we didn't believe that the user had malicious intentions, but we could not give a refund that would make it profitable for scammers to target us. We decided that if the user intended to stay using us anyhow that we could give a full refund, but it would have to be after the user had demonstrated that they were sincere in their intention of continued use. We offered a full refund in the form of a bonus, paid out after meaningful action had been placed.

Question: Are esports events graded manually?

We have automated grading for some e-sports matches, but not yet for all. At the moment it's about 50/50, but we are working to improve this rate.
