While we ask the question, whether we keep the planet or not, I think the planet will collapse. We destroy the planet with all our actions every day. And all countries participate in it, and each person separately.

The problem with preserving the planet it that, it needs 100% participation. For example, imagine the world nations passing a resolution that nuclear waste will no longer be dumped in the oceans. All except one nation accepts this resolution. But the sole remaining nation continues to dump the nuclear waste. The problem is that the pollution will not remain confined to that particular nation. It will spread around the globe.

No offense, but a political figure like Trump has a very big impact to the globe, and when he decides to pull out of the Clean Power Plan, Paris Climate Agreement and many more, this is effective affecting our planet. You are right, if one (large) nation does not co-operate, other nations will follow suit. What Trump is doing, he is doing it like Earth is a business, all about profits for the country, but not thinking about the impact worldwide.

I have read a book about the only way to reduce global warming is not by us, nor the environmentalists around, but it is the economists. Sure, environmentalists can start a green movement or so, but the economists can implement policies to stop further climate change.

We are depleting our carbon supply that Earth has accumulated in the past millions of years, and releasing them in the atmosphere. Yet someone still thinks 'climate change is a hoax!'  (Getting a bit frustrated please forgive me)

As an individual, there are still many things we can do, for example, I say NO to straws now, after I went for a cleanup where I collect over 100 straws in a swamp that were washed up in just hours. I influence my friends to do the same, and I only use the air-con only when it is unbearable, and set a 2 hour time countdown to turn off, just for me to go to sleep.

I voted for 'the government' should be the one to set the right policies and the direction of the country. If the government is leading a bad example, how to you expect us to save the planet?

Save planet Earth of course. It's everyones' responsibility to our planet. It's our way to return the favors we all get from our planet. By doing it we do favor not only for our planet but also to ourselves and future.

Very pessimistic this forum. More than 50% lost the hope to save our planet. That is really bad.
In my opinion the government should do much more to protect nature and our planet. It is the government that sets the ground rules for companies to work and people to live in. There is no excuse to keep burden the next generations.

while government is busy to find the solution , we can do a simple thing start from ourselves, like not throwing rubbish everywhere, remainding each other to save energy ect.

Needless to say, the earth is our one and only planet. When it comes to saving it, government, companies, countries, and so on do not apply; it is every human's responsibility regardless of race, nationality, status, religion, etc. Our one and only planet is already bending too much; when it breaks we will all perish.

The main reason for all this trouble is the unsustainable human population. The earth is not capable of sustaining 7 billion people, and even this figure is increasing every day. I don't want someone like Hitler to wipe out a major part of the population. But we should make sure that the population remains at least stable.

Definitely, we should be more serious about this issue, there are a lot of changes in recent years, climate change is one of the vital point now a days, many countries are suffering a lot by this change. So we should focus on mitigation and adaptation policies to save our generation..if we don't focus still now then our next generation will face strong difficulties of natural disasters.

1. Deforestation

3. Burning of fossil fuels

All these three factors can be countered only with help of government authorities. Individual action is good for publicity, but it can never be effective.

If you are a Bible believer, the planet has been around for a little over 6,000 years. If you are a big bang believer, the planet has been around for something like 4.5 billion years. The most solid archaeological findings show that people have been building buildings for at least 5,000 years.

How old are you? How old is modern science? We can't keep ourselves alive for much more than 100 years, science or not, even if we try our hardest. Why would anyone think we can save the planet from anything? Planet-saving is a stupid idea. But it might be fun trying. Just don't focus on the idea too hard, or you will run yourself into an early grave.

There are some inventions that have made really to help us solve global warming but these solutions are nothing compared to how we destroy our planet by releasing a lot of greenhouse gasses but I'm sure that people would come up a better invention to save this planet since they knkw for sure that when Earth die so as the entire beings residing on it.

This is no joke. Our future generations will remember us with hatred, for not leaving the planet inhabitable for them. Most probably they will be forced to flee to some other planet in the solar system.
