https://blockchain.info/charts/mempool-count?timespan=1year -- Bitcoin unconfirmeds here.

https://bitcoinfees.info/

And this chart -- https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage -- shows you what the ratio is of altcoin cap to Bitcoin cap.

Bitcoin price: $1150

Btc Unconfirmeds: 11K

Total altcoin cap: 32%

'The percentage of the litecoin network signaling to enact the Segregated Witness (SegWit) upgrade reached record highs today according to Litecoinblockhalf.com, climbing to 58.33% of nodes and miners operating the software.

The figures mark a notable jump from last week when only around 25% of devices keeping track of the network's history were signaling for activation. Much of the increase comes from large mining pool F2Pool's decision to signal.'

'Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings says he cannot support a bill intended to rescue the failing Dallas Police and Fire Pension Fund because in its current form it amounts to a massive taxpayer bailout.'

Unstoppable force (increasing fund-failures) meets immovable object (ultimately-limited bailout funds)!

ALTs have reached a historic thresh hold.  And just crossed over a big line.

Cryptospace is entering new waters. Bigger waves come next?

Admittedly, B.N., the following is rough 'rithmetic; but even without macroeconomic drama of any sort, total crypto cap looks like increasing at a $1B a month, and more of that will be in alts.

perhaps that is the very best piece of literature on BCT.  I read it way back, more as a tell all investigative report, looking for clues to things my gut already knew.

(btw Zimbeck may have turned around the BAY project, over time it may become respectable again)

Morning, B.N. I should have known that you'd know more about this than me! Bob came to mind when I was explaining ICOs to someone over on Reddit. (sigh: even chose to use Uno as an example of a nil-inflation instrument.)

‘For BU, the block size limit is [the] locus of an ideological game, where the system can only remain decentralized if this is distributed across nodes and miners. For them, the actions of Core enforce a hierarchical structure that contradict the promise of a decentralized cryptocurrency based entirely on technical adeptness.’

http://www.coindesk.com/hidden-history-bitcoin-unlimited/

There’s a thing here that has occupied us since The Beginning:

notwithstanding how much we want decentralisation, how much can we actually achieve?

We’ve seen savvy assertive players create de facto centralization. We weathered the crazinesses of the ‘development’-premine alts of 2013. We’ve seen small groups of community members become hugely influential simply because they were the only ones left standing. Then came The ICO Craze, welcomed by some and loathed by others. We've seen good and bad uncensored threads. We've seen good and bad censored threads.

And somewhere in there, I think even the staunchest decentralists had to consider the notion that A Development Team – evil centralization! – can help a coin elbow its way to centre stage.

'Not everyone is convinced, however, with Twitter commentators suspecting SegWit is merely the latest tool for developers to use in order to gain from a temporary price pump.'

Opinions on this? I only recently heard the term 'technical debt.' Hmmm . . .
