Bitcoin doesn't have any severe competition at a moment as I don't see any altcoin can replace bitcoin at this stage as people have more faith in bitcoin as they can make good profits from it.

bitcoin is like a mother of crypto currency and i think there is no competition for bitcoin itself because all of altcoins is depend with bitcoin price so whatever happen with bitcoin, altcoins will be follow. its hard to not follow bitcoin as bitcoin itself will be the center of the price of altcoins.

Im still not seeing any competition. Every time I look at the marketcap, I see that bitcoin has 80% of the total money invested in the crypto economy. This is what is expected from a dominating actor, and Bitcoin is that dominating actor. It always goes from 80, to 79, to 81, around that range.

of course there are other competitors. in my mind at this moment, that the BANK and Paypal are rivals who must be defeated by bitcoin. with these two bitcoin will become the strongest financial system in the world.

There are a few other currencies that are different in a few ways. Mainly eth and xmr. All other coins are just a light version of bitcoin or the same exact thing. Bitcoin does have competition but it's not overtaking bitcoin at all.

I think bitcoin will stand the test of time. However, because it is so expensive now and will keep getting more expensive, I think we will need to have some altcoins to go along with it that are cheaper. Like gold and silver and other metals. Not everyone can afford 24 carat gold.

I don't have idea how the things will unfold in future regarding digital currencies but at this moment Bitcoin has shown more than many times that it is only king and there is nothing what can compete with it. There have been working and developed many blockchain based things if blockchain will be used fully thing may differ a bit. Bitcoin will keep being central currency in my opinion in near future too.

I always believe Bitcoin will be the main digital currency in the short term but I think there will also be other rising stars in the mix of the plethora of altcoins out there as more and more people like to play around with digital currencies so we are in exciting times.

Bitcoin will always remain as top crypto for rest of the time for sure as most of the altcoin are traded under bitcoin market making bitcoin as dominant currency to get altcoin. So investing in altcoin simply mean you first need to have bitcoin or buy bitcoin and than only altcoin. Which will increase marketcap of bitcoin along with any other altcoin's marketcap.

All we are seeing now is how we as a community are fractured about every upgrade/change. Don't you think in this circumstances evolution is kinda limited? Don't get me wrong - I am all way BTC supporter. But how long till ETH or some other alt will catch on? |
