Yes, SHA256 algorithm so stronger than our imaginable levels. That is the reason many experts here comparing its toughness with survival of our universe. Until we are safe with this solar system, bitcoin will remain safer and stronger to serve for us.

To explain how strong bitcoin is really, only examples could do a right explanation, survival of our solar system must be one of them.

its always good to have Satoshi Nakamoto as your friend...with a calculator Grin
on a more serious note:OP should read more about blockchain technology in general, private keys and crypto algorythms before starting a topic
many banks consider implementing blockchain technology into their business structures and the bankers should know a thing or two about security and safe storage
for example read this article:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/bernardmarr/2016/05/27/how-blockchain-technology-could-change-the-world/#4e45ce9d49e0

For now we can not say that bitcoin network can be hack if they are holding a good thing daily changes in their security we can trace and monitor the block chain because they are doing a great job..  but hacking still possible that i hope it will not happen in the future..

If Bitcoin was hackable, it would have been down until now dozens of times. Also, hacking it means the price going under $1 in an hour if not a minute. Nobody would EVER buy it again.

Not all leaders from big corporation are able to adopt bitcoin even though we all know that bitcoin is really a strong currency. And it is strong to the point that no one is going to be able to breach the bitcoin network. So I am sure that this is the strongest crytpo currency in the whole world because no one can hack it.

well if you hold your bitcoins in an online wallet it can be easily hacked and you would lose everything you hold

it lasted till now since it was first made, survived tons of bumps and dumps and gained ground despite the initial extremely negative way of thinking about it, I consider bitcoins strong and was consistent at that, I guess this is mainly because it fills a certain need and it remains as long as people need it.

Your friend is starting hit borderline retarded levels when it comes to oversimplifying how Bitcoin and it's security works. You can't calculate things that have a specific encryption key just because you have the right formulas. If that was how it worked encryption would be useless and nothing would work when it comes to any form of security. Tell him to go and read how encryption works and why it isn't just "some math calculation".
I dont think bitcoins are really strong becuase it is easily to hack the bitcoins because the ones who hacked are never traceable so hackin g is quiet easy job for them and you are only getting rid.

Your friend is quite some dreamer if he can thinks that he can predict gambling bets. Of course he maybe right if he wants to hack the MD5 Hash of a single spin but casinos are bit forward of him. They only leave a seed of MD5 to verify for only a few minutes so no chances to hack such things. Bitcoin so far in its 7 years of life is not breached in security. All the cases of hacks and steals is because of user fault. So bitcoin is as strong as it can be.
I dont think bitcoins are very strong but when you ned them they are always there because bitcoins wont disappear because of the many users he has you know.

Bitcoin is pretty strong I would imagine. There's lot's of big investors in bitcoin who got alot of money way more than me in bitcoin.
So I am not worried cause hackers would rather target big wallets but it seems they are still doing fine.

There are various hackers. There are strong and there are newcomers. Each victim is in their teeth. So do not be so sure. It is better to take care of what you have closely.

Many hackers online are using bruteforce or monitor cookies of ip's if they get the data and monitor your ip good luck to your account you will be hack.. or
They are sending and spreading a virus called ransomeware that can lock all your files in your computer they are asking to pay for passphrase to open up again all your files with bitcoin.. they are just the same as scammers they are just using their brain to hack some and to live in bitcoin unlike in paypal that you can reverse the payment once you deal in scammers.

This is why I have split up my money in many paper wallets. I'm now more secure, and doing it correctly can make it impossible for one hacker to get your data. I have split all my money in 0.01 wallets, so.. Yeah Cheesy also, hacking the Bitcoin addresses isn't as easy as bruteforce is. Bitcoin is very secure and if that was the case..... Many rich Bitcoin addresses (especially the top 5, you can find the list on Google) would have been taken down already.

Then explain what happened to Bitfinex. Why do so many people lost their money. It is not easy and not everything is as you say.

No one can explain what happened besides someone find a bug and exploited it, and this were made inside the bitfinex website, the bitcoins werent picked from those wallets directly, the script has some mistake that lead into the dark result, and some people do say it were a inside job, something we wont know never, they might be searching and may not find nothing.
Currently bitcoin security is something no one can break, or had tryed, the hash makes bitcoin powerful and safe, if hash got down at all the miners it may result into a lot attacks over bitcoin.
