It is just so wrong for a govt or anybody to just declare that ICO are illegal. It is your money, if you want to spend it on ICO, then why are you prevented from doing so?

The reason I think is that money flows to the highest ROI and in spite of whatver  problems some ICOs have, overall has had and it will have one of the highest ROI of any investment type over the medium term. So "protecting" the people from losing money in ICO is really code for preventing anybody but the elite to participate.

It is already like this for IPO. only the already rich are able to participate and only the companies willing to pay the fees/bribes/etc to get listed are able to be listed. The rich get richer and only the big are able to make it bigger.

The crypto principle is to give power back to the people and give them the ability to make a lot of money or lose it all investing in whatever they want to. It is your hard earned money, anybody that restricts what you can do with it is effectively stealing value from you. Your right to mitigate damages should certainly include the ability to utilize JUMBLR and barterDEX

I was turn down by my bank from investing in IPO just because i don't have a job or a fixed income (no job due to my health problems).
So i totally agreed, it not fair only the rich are allowed to invest in IPO, and normal people like myself are not allowed to invest for my future, it sad.

So i'm glad Komodo are doing this....this is a great news for everyone, who want to invest for their future...and no annoying government policy can stop me to invest for my future now

by the way in my country(asia), most of crypto manias aint be aware of value of anonymous coins yet.
It may be take some more time, may be 2018~, to be acquire real valuation from the crypto world in my country...

I know nought about algo, but these thing was helpful for me to seize a big picture of Komodo’s superiority at a glance.

1)   Based on Bitcoin’s mighty blockchain
For durability is first thing on earth.
2)   Early fork of ZCash
zk-SNARKs’s idea itself is maybe difficult but obviously it’s best meaningful anonymizing tec.
3)   Anon DEX and Gateway between crypto currency and fiat currency

thanks to komodos recent announcement, the trolls are restless! is somebody feeling threatened? lol who cares but it sure it funny watching (metaphorically) them writhe when the real action starts happening with this coin. this (the announcement) is great news, I missed the vid however but I get the point. Isn't the country that illegalize ico China? It means other countries like russia or U.S. will still devop ico project without any worries as the law didn't applied to them. Besides, KMD had long since passing their ICO, so it's not even a concern here.

This is first time I bought some during recent decline and will be keeping those coins for few months. Komodo was very attraction for me but it took long time to make my way into this project. I am glad finally I have coins of one more highly potential project.

Some have pointed out that ETH ICO are also decentralized, but the d in dICO means more than just decentralized. It is the difference between napster and torrents. napster was p2p but it had a single point of failure, which was attacked and shutdown.

Current ICO invariably have a single point of  failure. And if your blockchain transactions are transparent, then no matter how decentralized everything else is, what does it matter?

Without JUMBLR level privacy, there can be no dICO.
To my knowledge no other ICO platform offers JUMBLR level privacy.

Another issue is that by decentralizing the ICO inventory, whales wont be able to gobble up all the ICO coins at once.

Another issue about proxy token ICO is that they are nice and convenient, but it is all centralized in one blockchain and expensive gas fees to pay, forever. Having your own blockchain is the most efficient. No need to store all the transactions from unrelated projects, no terabyte blockchains needed.
