Sync works, but it takes a long time. There are some things seriously messed up with the wallet. Like you can send coins even if it is not synchronized or offline, meaning these get lost. Lucky if you have another one as backup and can restore the status. Make a backup of wallet.dat before you do anything or all may be lost. And keep a close eye on the addresses you have coins on. In worst case, you can restore from your private key. Make sure you have that somewhere safe!!!

The wallet is a mess in the moment and needs serious repair and makeover. To announce changes to the blockchain in such a messy situation does not help at all.

I've put my EMB into coinsmarkets.com for the time being. Hope the problems will be addressed better sooner than later. Right now using the wallet is dangerous.

I think the new dev scammed people. Did anyone look into the early days of his ember address? Look at your wallet address and how it had no coins incoming from any purchases you made and only very small weird sums for the first two weeks. You were being fed coins from addresses sometimes literally A WHOLE YEAR OLD from last October. Why were those people sending you coins? Look at some of the addresses linked to your account:

To show HOW LITTLE RESEARCH I have had to do, the first link http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/EMB/tx.php?tx=adbd31372c2af0a02210cacd6b5cafc35c7c83baf513bf273f058c8d86d3e684  was taken from the first ever transaction to his account of more than a few EMBER (it was over 4million this time). NONE OF THESE ACCOUNTS OR INPUTS STAKED COINS BUT SOLD OFF $100K of EMBER EVEN FROM THIS EARLY ON IN DEVELOPMENT!!! Something very fishy has happened. His first ever normal input on his address was linked to this big $100k dump. Someone should look into it further as I am no expert on this.

There was an update ~2 weeks ago for the wallet, since then everything appears to go downwards. That new wallet was said to be mandatory, and came together with a bootstrapped blockchain and picked nodes. The same time there was that announcement that there may be changes to the latter. Does not make sense at all, unless something happened to that blockchain.

You can still sync the original one from day one, but it takes 2....3 days to complete. In the moment I don't trust that wallet client as I wrote and I keep my EMB at an exchange.

Hello,

To everyone with problems: Read the usage notes that came with your wallet on the mandatory upgrade. They're everywhere you got the wallet from. They tell you how to use it. What happened was that shortly after the last upgrade there was an unintentional soft-fork that resulted from corrected math making it's way onto the blockchain that previous wallets objected to stubbornly insisted that the value was below 0 when it wasn't. That's a simple version of what happened. What this means is you are probably on the wrong chain and your coins are safe on the correct chain.

As for the idea that miniscule amounts coming into my account denote scam behavior. Not at all. I've been running my video card CONSTANTLY since shortly after starting my work on this project. You can find my address mining at coinminers.net (it's the same address.) It is a hybrid PoW/PoS system and when I joined the largest question was why PoS would stop working and that's when I looked at the code and determined that PoS happened only when PoW did. So keeping my little video card constantly on or as close to it as I can is one of my ways of supporting everyone. Right now PoW hash rate looks like there's no problems, but it wasn't always the case.

Furthermore, I put $650 at the time was 4 sats of my own money into this project shortly after receiving several large donations from the current holders back then as thanks for working on the project. I do not often come around here, maybe it's time to change that.

Many coins have very bad code, no skilled developer, centralization of coin supply and many many other problems such as dead block explorer or *COUGHS* Hyper-Inflation. Given lack of devs or supporters, yes I agree and that is what I wrote. A coin is only as good as it is supported from the community.

@FieryDawn I'd suggest, as you claim to be the current Dev and Admin and Maintainer and everything else, to be present here. People have questions and are highly uncertain.
