Does anyone know why the GPU usage varies much (I have 6 x RX480 SAPPHIRE OC +):

Is because of your cpu is at 100% and cant handle mine is  at 80-90 and is working perfectly try -i 0 not 2 i am not sure ehat you are ussing but probably is 2 try with 0 or 1

Still waiting for LINUX, as *ALL* of my AMD-based machines are LINUX and I refuse to waste money switching them to Windows.
I'm trying to move ALL of my machines to LINUX from Windows except the gaming-specific ones, have ZERO interest in regressing to an OS that is much less reliable and stable.

What are you talking about.. Win 10 is rock solid.. and you can use it forever without activating it.. so it's basically free.

Win 10 is the only os I use for mining so I can't compare, but here's what I get:
4 rigs 6 cards each, 21 4gb 470s and 3 8bg 480s
Total hash 1544 so devided by 24 is around 64h/s per card.
1500 strap on all 470s 1100/900 core, 1850/900 momory, 29 low energy rom on the 480's

Anyone else notice 40% cpu usage from the miner?

I'm using -i 2, only two cards right now.

Please share rom :-)

Hi Guys,

What about the CPU usage? Isn't the mining hashrate depending somehow on the CPU performance?

I have a low-end CPU (G1840 Celeron) in my rigs. If I upgrade to a Core i3 CPU will the hashrate grow or be more stable?

What is your opinion/experience?

Thank you!

Regards,

Tamas

You didn't fully read Claymore's post. He clearly knows it is hard for him to secure his code from disassembly on a Linux version.

@ Claymore please do something in your miner for Sapphire Nitro RX 480 8GB OC aswell for getting 100h/s on stock, like you done for r9 390x  Smiley Grin

Happy mining, you are a champ Smiley

Hello.

The R9 390 have 44 unit computer.
The 390x have 44 unit computer.
And RX 480 only have 36 unit computer but this GPU is more efficient energy than 390 and 390x.

I think that RX 490 will be the best GPU for mining and we will see in 2017.

Best regards.
Antuam

That is right. The R9 390 and 390X has 2560 and 2816 computer cores. The RX 480 only has 2304 cores.

Claymore said:

"I'm not so greedy as some people say Smiley
It's not about money, there are several reasons why I'm not going to release ZCash miner for Linux in near future - most of haters who say that I stole SA engine are on Linux so let's they use some different miner. Also I don't like to see as someone applies IDA to my miner to see how it works. Also I don't like Linux, it's a pain for me.
NVidia: if I release miner for NVidia, these haters will again say that I stole SA engine. So there will not be NVidia version.
I think other devs will create public miners with similar speed for Linux and NVidia soon."
