so it seems that stock bios cards work better on the RX series for ZEC mining, my stock 470s do 120h/s and my strap modded ones for eth do 109-114

@Claymore
Please adjust the timing of when your devfee starts. As it is your miner starts the devfee after X amount of mining time. But if watchdog kicks in a restarts the miner, it restarts the devfee countdown. This means that when a miner, your miner, has a problem it requeues the devfee to start well before an hour has past. To test it I "challenged" a card to ultimately fail so watchdog would restart. In 67 minutes your devfee started 4 times. The devfee needs to start at the END of an hour of mining, not a few minutes into it.
yeah ive seen this too

I don't know the timing on it, but if it was at a set time at the end of an hour, some people would just have a script restart it every 55 minutes, since restart is less time than devfee. What would be better is if it just didn't reset time on watchdog restart, but kept track of how much time you mined better. It is better to just have stable settings anyway, since unstable cards can also freeze system, or cause system restarts, which are longer. (not too bad on SSD). Watchdog is a failsafe, it shouldn't be used to run unstable clocks/voltages/timings.

Watchdog is a failsafe, it shouldn't be used to run unstable clocks/voltages/timings. That's true. No need for watchdog here, since everything has been running stable for days. P.S. Just noticed it again: Dev fee runs for about 20 sec.

Watchdog is a failsafe, it shouldn't be used to run unstable clocks/voltages/timings. If someone is going to restart the miner to avoid the devfee, what difference does it make if it is at 5 minutes or 55 minutes? The restart is like 20 seconds and simple to do with a bat and task scheduler. As it is if you are max'n your card and it triggers watchdog, you actually lose money to increased devfees. Since it is in Claymore's best interest to encourage max'n out card for higher hashrate, he doesn't want to discourage that by it constantly restarting the devfee.

Be really careful miners on your power use, according to my meter i only used around 14k kwh but with the feul cost and fees and taxes etc , my rate of .08 is actually closers to .22 !!!

If in the US dont look at the rate you are actually paying for electricity check the ENTIRE bill with fees
well man this is nothing new it worked that way in every country, i guess many here that say they have very cheap electricity don't know how to check the bills properly and they are actually payign a fortune if your bills is done right it should report the full cost of the kw/h not just the cost at the source

That's why you buy energy blocks for your mining operation ahead of time if you draw enough power. I'm also not sure how 14kw being $1900 = $0.22 What i need for emergy box? or i have only to buy it? 3000w energy box is it will work 24h at 3000w? Can you explain me more about it? Thanks you in advanced.

I kind of question to my self those who say they have 3 cents a Kwh what no fees added to that. mine is 7.60 cents per KWH for a year before fees after BG and G does there thing adds another 100 bucks or so then it goes to about 11 or 12 cents with dis fee and lot of other little bs fees i did the math and it came to about 11 cents and some small number so i guess it's more 12 cents . They even screwed my area this summer with energy saving days, in my area we got none for two month after they reported the month we did they lost all most half billion or some stupid amount but called it they saved it customers that a mount which is BS so we didn't get any more days like that no matter how hot it got the rest of the summer while others in different parts of Maryland did .
so nothing new i know I'm not paying 7.60 cent per kwh more like 11 to 12 cents in some cases in my area if you buy direct from the power company it's 14 to 15 cents with out fees hate to see how high it goes, i don't buy direct .

I think there is a bug. When I start Claymores Zcash miner it set the clockspeed to 1250 even tho I have set them with Afterburner to 1350 where it runs stable. I didn't even set the -mclock option and it should use my settings i made with msi afterburner.
It gets worse now..it also changes the vddc and cddc and makes the system unstable it set them to low 1.0750V regardless what i do. I rephrase: didn't set those in the config.txt whats going wrong here. Any ideas why the miner is setting these even tho it is not SUPPOSED to change these settings.

So the 20 sec restart equals the 20 sec dev fee Way to calculate, go for it Even if u go with restarting script, u dont win anything, at the best u may stay level and only thing u achieve is not mining for developer. How u call people who do that? So, idea for added 10sec delay at start that u may fill with greetings to "hackers" and countdown, and option to remove that by placing devfee time from 15 to 5 minutes. I'd take that other option, but then ppl come and complain that they pay 10x devfee an hour on unstable rig. And may u add long waited -devfee option to increase the value.

just want to share my experience a little bit... I did a little experiment... trial & error.. I use sapphire nitro rx 470 8gb samsung memory & rx 480 4gb hynx memory.. at first i set core clock 1300 and memclock 2200 with 1750 strap bios using polaris on my rx 470 8gb.. the result were good.. 120 to 135 h/s on both card..total 250 to 260 + h/s... but the rx 470 use much more power than the rx 480.. I had a hard time trying reducing the power consumption on my rx 470.. when use sapphire trix and lowering voltage.. yes the power decrease from about 103-105 on gpu-z to 95-98 watts... but after some time the computer freeze...then i had an idea to try to reduce the memclock and keep the core clock unchanged... I set 1300/2050 using polaris bios editor..flash it with atiwinflash.. reboot.. then run the claymore v5.0 again.. the hashrate don't change.. still around 120 - 135 h/s on both card.. but with this setting i can decrease the voltage and my computer not freeze... stable.... I think with zcash the secret is on the core clock.. more cclock.. more hash rate.. here's the screenshot: GPU 0 rx 470 8gb, GPU 1 RX 480 4GB (both are sapphire nitro) here's the bios setting of my cards, maybe you may want to try it:
