investment_wagered is based on your leveraged investment, correct? So that means that you can't get more EXP by using leverage? Is there a reason for not allowing leveraged investments to gain more EXP, as the investment_wagered would be larger.

Isn't rakeback -EV for you (not talking about investors)? You take 20% commission on profits, which if the expected return = actual return, you would get only 20% of the house edge, but you would be paying 30% of the house edge to players. If a huge whale comes and wagers a lot, wouldn't this/couldn't this be unsustainable?

You are right, when calculating the XP the effect of leverage is nullified. First, this was done to provide balance between how players and investors level-up. Second, you could see it like this: investors provide funds for the bankroll. The site rewards investors not for the risk level they chose, but for the amount they put into balance.

You are right regarding EV too. We've just implemented rakeback and see how it goest and how people use it. Right now we (owners) fund it from our commission. I am going to propose some ways to fund the rakeback pretty soon. Two natural solutions are: 1. increase our commission to be able to sustain rakeback in the long term, 2. or fund rakeback directly from bankroll. Whichever we choose, investors will be notified in advance. Right now I am leaning towards (2).

I think investments counts as balance, if that is the problem.

Faucet can be claimed when your balance is zero. Maybe you have invested your balance in website. Which mean you don't have 0 satoshi in your account. Therefore, can't claim faucets.

Ok, so that is it... Thanks for your replies.

Would be nice to be able to claim on faucet even with an active investment, I let here my suggestion to YoloDice owner.  Smiley
I agree with you. Investments freeze your money, so you don't have anything to play with. The faucet gives so little that the owners wouldn't lose anything by allowing investors to claim a few satoshi. I see no reason why they faucet should be blocked.

It keeps popping up:  invested coins count as "balance" for faucet purposes. It protects agains the following: open investment (balance is zero) & claim faucet & close investment & open investment (balance is zero again) & claim faucet.... This way you could systematically claim faucet available to you.

I keep thinking how to solve this. I think it would be really cool to allow investors to use the faucet to play a bit. Just judging from how the faucet is currently being used and how creative some players are finding ways to empty it, the simplest solution might not be the best one.

If you have any ideas - tell me!

Wahou wahou wahou

Ok guys I've been out for about a month or two and when I come back...
Damn do you even sleep Ethan?
I mean those are serious big developments you've made! That's putting Yolo Dice directly in the first dice sites available that I know. It's really impressive to see how it all grows, great work Yolo team Cheesy

Thanks! Now we are ready for more players!

Option 1 - Lock investments for X hours - usually it's 12-24 on other sites.

Option 2 - add a divest fee that changes with time - for example 5% in 24 hours, 2.5% in 7 days, 0% in 21 days

Do you think that investor are going to play using faucet? Because they deserve to get more profit, although they have good profit there, I do not think that they are going to play even using some faucet. I do not know about the calculation here but it seems that if they win from faucet, it still not worth for what they get to what they lose from investment

And about the divest fees idea? It works well... This way your prevent gamblers to cheat your casino.

Each new day the divest fee decreases more and more, after a week or more the divest fee becomes zero (free).

I don't see it as a money "kidnap", who wants to invest for real will let the money invested for at least few weeks, so they won't complain about it.  Smiley

Why would anyone give a divest fee for their own money? We provide freedom to users as they can divest/invest anytime they wants to without any fee. Adding fee to divest option...... how will that prevent gamblers to cheat?

It prevents people from abusing faucet. Like ethan said, someone can claim faucet, invest it, withdraw and repeat. Some people are desperate enough to sit all day milking faucets, and casino faucets are much bigger than classic faucet sites, so owners should monitor faucet activity and develop protection mechanism against such abuse.

Here's another idea - faucet just gets locked for some time (6-12 hours for example) after making investment. This way investors will not be affected and most other users too.

Hey...
Actually not a bad idea!
It will prevent people to milk the faucet in order to invest it! You have to put a rather long duration like 24 hours!
Then people who want to invest won't really care but those who try to abuse the faucet won't be able to invest the money ^^

Chatting and playing just bacame a bit easier. A lot of players asked for vertically-split chat instead of horizontal split we had. I have to agree - having chat at the bottom of the page made the experience somehow... shitty.

I spent a few hours and coded a chat box that would fit at the right side of the screen (provided your screen is wide enough). Take a look:

(image archived)

I hope this will make the experience even better. Also, switching between chat channels and private messages don't lag anymore and should be close to instant.

Stay tuned for new amazing things to come!

Cheers,

24 hours faucet duration might be a good idea but its pretty long time to wait for certain people who are trying some strat to use, and maybe I think 1 hour time duration would be rather enough for that one since it abuser cannot do nothing with it since its pretty awfull to wait for that long to earn some little money on faucet.

We had an option to split the chat/play screens before, but it was still top/bottom.  Now with smaller text and on the right/left its much easier to see. Smiley

I felt happy to find 2FA in yolo, recently my liqui.io (trading platform) account got hacked so I am enabling 2FA in my all accounts. I also like to recommend all yolodice users to enable 2FA as quickly as possible.

It looks like many username and password combination of bitcoin users were compromised.  Angry

Fully agree. It is a bit confusing Yolodice calls it "enable one-time password" though. Should just be "enable 2FA" imo.

Angry

Did you use the same password in multiple places? I'm frequently getting notifications that someone tries to access my accounts, but so far I wasn't hacked not a single time. But anyway I'll install 2FA asap.

Question to YOLOdice: many sites require email confirmation for each withdrawal as additional layer of protection, are you going to implement this feature too?

Hi,

first, we did not have any case a user account was compromized, just so that you can rest assured. We also have counter-measures that protect against brute-force login attempts and from what I can see it stops atteckers for blindly cracking passwords.

I think email "security" is highly overestimated. IMHO email is THE real weak link when you think about security. Imagine any service that you don't use 2FA - an attacker that can control your email can easily reset passwords and gain access to such service.

Confirming withdrawals with email sure adds some protection, but 2FA adds much more.

Neither will protect you if your computer has been compromized via malware though. Protect your PC, login only from trusted computers, this should keep you safe.

Cheers,
Ethan
