In fact, wrong checksum on memory timings doesnt matter,
So i force flash it with atiflash from command prompt.

P.s. i also have some msi 280x, didnt check which memory is inside,
But bios is larger than on older 280x/7970 (they put new serial flash ic in, its double the size),
Modding gave me some solid results, should be good for your card, too. (Sustained 80+ sols/s).

@others, dont flash this bios randomly. It's gonna brick your cards. It's only for mentioned msi card.

Have anice day.

How would I know which strap is tight? Basically we are just copying the timings of the tight strap to the other strap but which one?
As I can see backreading thru the work of the Stilt, he edited hex to be tight but not just copy pasting the lower tight strap to the higher strap.
Thanks.

This is the same question I have.  On the HD 7970 I mentioned above there are 5 timings for the Hynix AFR.  On my GPU the 3rd and the 4th timing have identical hex code.  The last is different.  I copied the 3rd and replaced the 5th with it.  Not much change actually.  I am sure that I am missing something and that is why I asked for someone to mod my original from the link above.

Basically use this

http://www.binaryhexconverter.com/hex-to-decimal-converter

Put in the code backwards like

20 4E 00 -> 00 4E 20 and you get 200Mhz.

You only need to update the strap you are using.

Alright I finally found a good ELPIDA timing strap. Use only 1500 Mhz. That Gigabyte 7970 finally gets 80 Sol/s using this, previously it was max 70 Sol/s

Put it inside your bios, I am too lazy to do any more Hex editing.

This has only 9 timings so make sure you include an extra dummy timing so the length of the file is the same.

Can someone help me to modify this BIOS?
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7DY4HtlGV7VY1IxQ2R1YXlTMFU

It's from MSI 7950 with Hynix MFR/AFR (shows both, depends on what identifier you use, Asus one shows MFR, Tahiti gddr5 shows AFR, and VBE7 shows both, lol).

Thanks!

Anyone,  please?  I tried flashing the one from stilt's collection, card would not show up in device manager anymore,  had to revert to default.

Thank you very much

As a temp solution until we have correct bios, try flashing this one. It is working with my vapor-x ghz, now more than 24h stable ~83-88 sol/s

ASUS R9 280X with HYNIX AFR memory

https://mega.nz/#!zwl1WDIa!kLFqZgCkMPiH1DOQe3Rg3FbQHpXZN-xq_CdmREBha04

Slight undervolt to 1.075V, 1070/1600.
MSI Might say 1375 for mem but its 1600 since I didn't update the previous DPM field in VBE.

There is a guide here

http://club.dns-shop.ru/forum/?p=0&action=thread&id=123833#1271944

However I don;t have any straps for the 280, dont know if the 7970 280x ones will work. The card is a little different.

few hours ago, i tried to use 280x bios...but seems like not compatible. so....a google again and found 7950 is 280... so i try to use it...but finlly my gpu bricked.

so i reflash again....

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8mIxnX_aocKVXZTMzlUemJIa1k

this is asus r9 280 original bios setting

please help me sir..Smiley

Yes because you used a different bios. Backup your current BIOS, follow that Russian guide and modify your straps manually to the ones I posted in the main page.

still cant do this sir....my sol/s decrease until 30sol/s.

Nice but honestly I got no sleep since Oct 28th, unless we are talking about 50% more profit, hardly worth switching over.

No difference, as long as you install cgwin correctly. Claymore find more shares at the same speed. Im still letting it run to see if SA will catch up.

Amount of shares doesn't mean anything. Every share is a different weight. Pools balance the share size so you submit a share every few 30 seconds or so. It doesnt affect your overall speed.

I set the same difficulty level on the same pool. Receiving the same nonce.

Hmm, maybe its just luck should even out in a few hours. Highly doubt its displaying the incorrect speed.

Will let it run further but initial 24hours claymore finds 27% more.

I just dont know where to put this lines.
I find the 22 AA in my hex editor though... and where and what to put inside this dummy timing?
Would be really nice if someone could help me with that.  Grin
