Is that for me? Just want to make sure Yes, it is. Will try at home, thank you! I tried and hashing speed is the same as before, can you please check if the timings were saved? I would do it myself, but tried for 2h to understand the hex editing thing and got nothing. Try 1375 MHz mem-clock

Maybe the strap I asked you to add is bad? It is the first one posted in the OP, for Hynix, which I have. L.E. I think I did it, I took the chance and took the gigabyte 7950 modified rom from the OP, and flashed on my MSI. Now I have 100h/s stock. Time to up the clocks and see where this goes.

Glad to hear you got it working. I am not really experienced at this kind of thing, just had some free time and thought i could try. Sorry it didnt help.

With the Claymore V5, you should get very close to 120Sol/s however you will need the clocks to run at 1050-1100 for engine core and around 1550-1600mhz for memory clock. Most GPUs have stability problems at those clocks however. Elpida are much worse then Hynix.

adaseb, please look at and comment on my posts above. Which strap would you change or move and why? 5 straps starting at 1250 -> 1750

I have 4x GIGABYTE GV-R928XOC-3GD REV2 Radeon R9 280X 3GB that I have been using mining zcash. Is it just a matter of flashing this rom in the via atiflash that is in the original post? That's it?

Depends, check which memory type you got with each of those GPUs. Use GPU-Z. If you got Hynix for all of them, flash with the Gigabyte 7970 Hynix ROM posted above. Do one GPU at a time in case something fails.

For your Gigabyte 280x try https://mega.nz/#!K9l3jDCT!z8tmV57GkU6JEHxgaZhkOdCMMS09XF9a0z5YJfyyZJg Its slightly undervolted, so increase voltage if you have instability and slowly increase to 1100Mhz/ 1575Mhz from 1000/1500Mhz stock. Elipida is always slower and that card only runs at 108Sol/s for me @ 1000/1500. Try 1100/1575Mhz and if its stable you might get up to 120Sol/s. For your Samsung, I got nothing.

I ran across the weirdest BIOS yesterday... It's an XFX 280 and has timings for Hynix AFR, BFR and Elpida.... but the timing table is TINY!
Each one has only four timings with transitions at 400, 800, 1250 and 1625
Unsure if the card was AFR or BFR so modded both, getting peaks just over 110 sol

When you say "Try 1100/1575Mhz" do you mean modify the rom itself with VBE7.0.0.7b.exe to match those numbers, save it, and reflash the card with the new file or do you mean set those settings in MSI Afterburner? Forgive me for my lack of knowledge this whole mining thing is new to me and I am trying to learn. Thank you! Anything I can do to the bat? Here is how it looks now and thanks! Ok, here is a stupid question and i'm almost embarrassed to ask, but how do you copy the straps into Hex Workshop, i found the correct line etc, i copy the strap to the clipboard but it won't allow me to paste it in the hex workshop. i don't want to have to retype that long line.

Just flash these straps at your own risk, if you have no idea what you are doing, then leave this thread now. I assume NO RESPONSIBILITY if you brick your GPU, messed up your memory chips, etc. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT MEMORY. ELPIDA WONT WORK WITH HYNIX STRAPS.
