I found the hacked Modified Memory Strap does not affect the ZCash mining with the V8. It did with V7.

The hex are identical but why cant the stock 1150/1600 1.256V on toxic reach 220sol/s. (@ 201 -207sol/s only)
I settled at 1010/1375 at 1.018V hashing at 195sol/s.

Same memory type?

Yes both hynix H5GQ2H24AFR

do have someone straps for the Elpida Memory (Sapphire R9 280x Toxic)

Meh, my 380 does over 25MH/s with custom timings, so guessing Tahiti has just reached its limit on Eth.

Yeah unless there is some way to change the DAG slowdown.

@adaseb

Bit late to the game but thinking to build a cheap rig with 280x and 7970s. $80~$100 bucks a piece locally. Worth it? Reckon I can build a 6 card rig for $1000-ish and with 1.2~1.3kSol ROI in roughly 3 months at current ZEC price. I have free electricity. I could go for 290x but they go for ~$150 a piece second hand around here. Thoughts?

270x – 144 H/s
280x – 228 H/s
290x – 290 H/s
7970m – 125 H/s

Are they stable? whats your clock settings and voltage on 280x?
I lowered the TDP and powertune on mine to be stable, 20 sols less than yours.

I get the same speeds as him. No idea if the 7970/280x are bios modded however, might of changed them back to stock. The 290 is stilt bios modded however.

Rock solid stable

Maybe you undervolt too much. I run mine at around 1 H/s per 1 Watt or so. Don't care about efficiency at the moment.
