Just looks like a copy & paste of bitconnect with some very minor tweaks. They even use some of the same content. Pretty obvious scam by someone who thinks a bitconnect clone will be enough to get some bitcoins from people, and if you're invested they just may be right.
And what a huge coincidence that they also happen to have created a trading bot that makes just slightly more than the bitconnect one apparently does. And oh look their affiliate program also pays 1% more. How tempting!
Many other people are not sharing your sentiments about Westerncoin.

My referral network is too long to be displayed.

These are people who have missed the Bitconnect and Regalcoin bandwagon,
and are now invested in Westerncoin.

They are from all over the world.

And if you miss the Westerncoin bandwagon, get on board the PumkinCoin haywagon coming October 31, 2917.

I tried withdrawing some BTC from my Bitconnect account yesterday and today without success. I received an error message that my 'password is not correct' , I only have one password, the one I logged in with, plus the card code which is correct, so what is the problem ? I contacted support yesterday but have had no response thus far. Anyone else had a similar problem or am I making a rookie mistake somewhere ?

Please Reset your password from here- https://bitconnect.co/forgot_password and try it.
I have not been able to reach anyone thru support. I had made a loan of 53k and wanted to know if I would be getting the Thailand invite. Username beyourownbank

Oh it's a ponzi all right... but it's got this bitcoin-to-shitcoin element to it that allows shills to claim all sorts of nonsense, e.g. it's just the usual risk of shitcoining.

And now we have other scammers trying to clone this "business model". Fucking cockroaches.

Can someone explain these 'ponzi' claims for a simple cryptocurrency? The only time it can be a Ponzi is if something is not delivered as promised. No cryptocurrency can promise increasing growth or stability, but bitconnect and others are showing how it should be done. The fact RegalCoin has no internal exchange (and the coinexchange.io one they are on has no authorisation API either so they can't trade automatically on there - i.e. no bots can trade http://coinexchangeio.github.io/slate/ ) shows that it isn't necessary to have an internal exchange for stability of the price. Bitconnect's internal exchange allows them to halt trading when a panic occurs etc for extra protection of their coin holders.

When bitconnect do not pay out their member's USD lend amounts in BCC tokens, that is when people have a right to complain. Are they going to be short of BCC for a while? Actually, it is growing exponentially and the max supply is nowhere near reached (only 8million of 28milllion coins have been generated so far despite the good monthly staking interest).

You have to remember that people in that part of the world have significantly higher IQ's than the average in USA and Europe and there are many more geniuses (not to mention that those  doing computer related work also are usually much more intelligent than average). The coin may eventually crash, as all modern economies naturally do in cycles, but they should be able to guarantee all lend amounts.

I actually find all these scam claims laughable because they have been profiting greatly from the lending in both BCC and USD terms as their coin has increased at a faster rate then the interest they pay, not to mention everything else. They could easily pay back every lend amount now in BCC tokens and not even touch their reserves as they will be paying back less than they received. Obviously, if everyone sold all this BCC at the same time, the value would plummet but that isn't what is going to happen. They are the ones in control of the price with their massive reserves that is also currently staking 8% monthly.

Just imagine if everyone tried withdrawing from their bank? Bitconnect have an advantage over commercial banks in that sense as they are able to pay everyone back immediately in their tokens and can halt their exchange if they sense the value is plummeting.

Do you agree that people just holding the coins are the only ones taking a risk ? The game isn't very complicated. Lending is actually the safest option. The system keeps the price from crashing easily.

I do not understand your categorical attitude towards BitConnect.
I'm also almost sure that this is ponzi, but this does not prevent anyone from earning money on this.
However I'm just mining this coin.
Perhaps the whole Blockchain (all mining any coins, etc.) is a global scam of a huge scale and a big ponzi. None of us knows this ...

Regardless of whether a particular person thinks it's a scam or not, surely anyone can see that lending is by far the most risky way to use their system?
And that's not unique to bitconnect of course, it's just so blindingly obvious I'm surprised by your post. It's the only action you can take that locks up your funds away from your control for extended periods of time. Coin holders can sell their coins any time they like.

Does anyone out there know of a vehicle for shorting Bitconnect?

I've done a bit of digging but the amount of exchanges trading BCC is so limited and finding a margin trading platform for Bitconnect is even harder. Any ideas?

I don't understand why this coin has a market cap over 1 billion dollars.  The Bitconnect code is old and hasn't had a significant update since they started:  https://github.com/bitconnectcoin/bitconnectcoin/commits/master
Most of the 30 code commits are updates to their documentation or readme files.   It is an old Peercoin clone without the code fixes.  What am I missing?
