Serious question....the breakaway dev did post some pretty damaging remarks about Vidz. What's to be done to address those concerns seeing how he felt so strongly about them being a problem that he left?
Which remarks? As we continued to move forward and I saw the limitations with the Web Torrent technology, especially the bottle neck in terms of explaining to users how to submit content to the site, lack of seeders via Web Torrent, etc. Neither of us retain full ownership of the private codebase Another thing we're aware of that need not be pointed out is the site still calls everything a "Torrent" for example "PlayTorrent", "ManageTorrent", etc. This will remain this way until the new UI is finished being developed. We see no reason to waste resources in doing heavy overhaul on the current UI when it's simply going to be replaced anyways in a few weeks. WebTorrent clients are a fairly new thing and most people are still running legacy clients so finding torrents with a high amount of WebTorrent seeders is harder then just finding traditional seeders. There is a bunch of other stuff, too https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=952245coins101, The limitations you refer to are regarding Webtorrents. Don't forget this project (PureVidz original) also uses IPFS as its current default sharing method. They are going to add Webtorrents back when it gains enough traction, i.e. there are enough WebTorrent (hybrid) seeders.

All you're pointing out is the current limitation to the scalability of WebTorrenting due to the fact it's still in early adoption.. You must understand that this project jumped onto fairly new tech, be realistic here...

I'm just asking a question based on the desire to split up the team. It seems the issues were so fundamental that one project became two.

I've been saying this since we posted the news, the only that will change in terms of this project is the rate of development. Things might have to slow down a bit, but they will still get done the way I had planned for them to always get done. This month you can expect continued updates to the UI as we re-add features that were previously removed in preparation of recent changes, the advertising system I mentioned previously, subtitles and a wider array of support for meta data content.
I think some of you are finally starting to get it now that this project is still going forward as always intended.
as was told this is long term, why everybody want fast money or 100-150% profits everyday, sad. Will stay in project.

I am not overly please with the way the PV dev can't see what the project needs and the vision to make it happen. To me it looks like the real dev behind PV has gone and that will be the dev I support. It will soon become obvious when shit doesn't get done because the talent has had to leave.

But I would like to know how the issues with this project are being addressed given that one half of the effort left because of the effort involved in fixing the issues.

Better dev doesn't matter. Full decentralization is a red herring. Other projects have tried for full decentralization of video and failed. Just google, there are many. The other dev didn't do his research. This purevidz project was a no-brainer to invest in because its scope was manageable. It'll take the other dev a year to release a prototype if he ever gets there.

WITH BITTORRENT, THE CATS OUT OF THE BAG coins101, sorry if I intervene with your efforts to advertize vTorrent (I definitely value your efforts ), but I have to tell you are mixing things here. The other dev left not "because of the effort involved in fixing the issues", but just because he see the scope of the project to be much larger, and wants to go a different way. That's my understanding.

That's my understanding. @drays Me, promoting vTorrent? Never. Actually, your point makes sense and it doesn't all at the same time. If the project scope is much larger, isn't that a good reason to stay? If the price was already at $2.5m, making the project bigger would surely have taken the price to $10m?
