INTRODUCTION

Respectonomy is a decentralized, self-moderated social network system that gives the user the freedom to share their thoughts without the fear of censorship while rewarding them for it. Though modern social networks provide a platform for free information exchange, it is just an illusion of freedom as some sort of moderation or censorship is often used. This project aims to assign value to data, measuring the quality of inherent information, and to provide a mechanism for fairly compensating data bandwidth availability.

Respectonomy will be an open-source, browser based implementation, that utilizes the Bittorrent protocol for content sharing and a proof of work blockchain to determine the value of the RESPECT token that runs the system. Being an independent token, unlike colored coins, the PoW blockchain system that Respectonomy flows on, represents a closed network with dynamic membership of parties, and this determines its true value in a free-market.

Our system makes use of the RESPECT token that can be used by the users to vote for the content that they deem to be of a superior quality. This ensures that the content is reviewed algorithmically by the network and not determined by the reputation of any user. The value of the content is now based solely on the value of the token which is determined and fairly distributed by a proof of work blockchain. This prevents the branding of any user as a good content creator while at the same time discourages ads, spam and trolls.

ESCROW TERMS

  • ICO Period:
    • Start Date: 6th February 2017 12 noon (5 a.m. UTC)
    • End Date: 4th March 2017 12 noon (5 a.m. UTC)

  • ICO Requirement:
    • Total requirement of ICO is 2000 BTC
Note: Crowdsale sale ends automatically when the cap of 2000 BTC is reached.

  • Initial Rate:
    • Our Initial rate of a Respect token will be 0.0005 BTC.
    (1 BTC = 2000 RES)

  • Coin Distribution:
Total supply of coin is technically infinite, out of which 5 million is pre-mined.
    • 4 million for participants in ICO
    • 1 Million for Bounties, Campaigns, Translations, and Bonuses for early adopters in ICO and the Team.
Note: Should ICO does not reach the target of 2000 BTC, only that many tokens will be mined as per the amount of BTCs raised.
For eg- Suppose we were able to make it to say 1000 BTCs, that means only 3 Million RES will be mined out of which 2 Million goes to Investors and 1 Million as mentioned above.

  • Bonus Structure:

    https://i.imgur.com/6gHDGbm.png

*Terms & Condition Apply.

https://respectonomy.com/images/Roadmap.png

  • Name: Respectonomy
  • Token: RESPECT
  • Symbol: RES
  • Algorithm: Proof of Work
To avoid an identity conflict, a Proof of Work (PoW) based algorithm is used. The miner solves a computationally hard problem which is decided by the difficulty level to mine a block. The solution to the problem shows proof of the miner's work in obtaining the block and hence there is no conflict in the identity.
  • Block Specification
The initial block reward is 16 RES per block. A block is generated every 2 minutes. This block reward reduces over time (see Halving Rewards) to give an incentive to early users of the platform. Eventually each block will have the same reward.
The block rewards are halved every 525600 blocks, which is approximately 2 years at an average time of 2 minutes per block. The block reward is halved till it is 1 RES and stays constant henceforth.
  • Difficulty Re-Target
The difficulty level of a block determines how hard it is for a miner to get the hash value of the block. Initially the difficulty will start at 1, which is the lowest possible value, and will increase with subsequent blocks. The difficulty level is calculated as a moving average of the past 2016 blocks. The difficulty may increase or decrease to ensure that the average block time is approximately 2 minutes.

Interesting project but I can't seem to find any verifiable information regarding the developers. One thing I look for before investing in a new coin is evidence of the capability of the dev team.

Perhaps the OP could link to all the dev's github profiles so we can see their previous work?

Edit: this is the github page for the project: https://github.com/Respectonomy/Platform-development - nothing there. Quite skeptical of projects that ask for funding before writing a single line of code.

Not saying this is a scam, just asking if there's any more info.

Form where do I start to read code for any coin in github repository?. As there are multiple files called from main file hence unable to understand from where to make an start to read an code.

I aspire to learn to code as fast as firebird2490 has, hence now having the ability to develop RESPECTONOMY.

Meanwhile, does anybody here know the ingredients that go into the making of a banana split? I mean I looked at the pictures and all at my local Dairy Queen up on the pricing board, but still can't figure it out. Expect to see the ICO soon for my and sockpuppet's RESPECT-O-MY-CREAM, where our motto will be You'll Love Our Cream!

We can safely say that this team are coding geniuses "SARCASM INJECTED"

No, that's not a dude drying his laundry. HE'S WAVING A GIANT RED FLAG!

For over a month now, nary a RES team member has addressed concerns in re the names of a SINGLE associate, with its lead dev called out by me as NOT being a dev, having to literally ask how to read code as demonstrated above. If any of the RES' team member were capable of penning code, then firebird2490 wouldn't have had a need to inquire. That was found after I posted about the same dude not knowing the difference between PoW and PoS, and neither did Miss Budchai (Founder), Thunder Bolt (Developer), VicktorX (Web Developer), Red Sonja (Digital Marketer), Fantastic Mr. Fox (Trading Specialist) or Asterix (Strategic Head), again, else the question wouldn't have needed to be asked. Yet, RES has positioned themselves to amass 2,000 BTC via an ICO so to built the bitch that these fuckin' Thailand kids evisioned as being the next best thing since carved bread, or is it sliced bread? Can somebody tell me the difference? I'm still tryin' to get my head wrapped around the difference between PRE-ANN and ANN. I think it may have something to do with RES' Foundher, Miss Budchai, naming her pre-born daughter Ann, later settling on Ann instead of Ann after her breech birth.

What are the odds of two dudes from Bangkok both registering on this forum on the very same day, both ask rudimentary questions in the cryptocurrency space, and both changed their passwords literally within twelve minutes of one another?

While your computer is calculating the odds for the above, feast your eyes on the following gleaned from a thread started by firebird2490: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1685109.0

Well, at least the retards figured out that they can't build the next social media thingie that'll change the world without first learning about how to build an FAQ page as demonstrated below:

What major points should I take in consideration for my FAQ's of new Altcoins so that few doubts about new Altcoins is clearly solved by reading those FAQ's?.....

And if you think all the above is amazing, wait till you read the following ...

Does anyone know of any Decentralised News Platforms that are currently live or at the least under development?  I feel like having a platform free from censorship where content providers are rewarded in a cryptocurrency/token for publishing valuable content for readers would be a perfect use case for Blockchain.  It could also be ad-free or if ads were included the revenue could be distributed among the token holders.

Seems like a pretty simple concept, but I was surprised I couldn't find any active initiatives when searching.  Any thoughts or know of a platform similar to this?

Hello DApptothefuture,

Your idea is good. Your idea totally reflects on our platform  Respectonomy which we are gonna pre-announce it by today or most by tomorrow. Since we are working on our website, so our website link won't be available. For the time being you can join us on twitter for further updates.

Twitter Link: https://twitter.com/respectonomy

Awesome! Keep me updated and if you need any help designing the front-end of the DApp shoot me a PM. I like angular & ionic for apps right now.

I appreciate our interest for your platform, once we pre-announce it and once we are ready with website you will able to join us on multiple platform. Being an open source platform you can always contribute on github once link is available.

What are the odds of DApptothefuture joining this forum then immediately ask his first question pertaining to EXACTLY what RES is trying to accomplish, with firebird2490 stumbling upon his thread so to reply, announcing that RES' PRE-ANN (not an ANN) is forthcoming the next day?

It's 4:20, thus best post this reply now so that I can go and smoke a bowl of Thailand herb (or is it Herb?).

The go-to place for any bitcoin discussion is Bitcointalk, the infamous messaging board which is home to tens of those of enthusiasts. Ranging from news to technical discussions and mining support to altcoins, it is hard to think of any resource that can’t be found there. People interested in spending Bitcoin may want to check out the marketplace section, although one always needs to tread carefully when dealing with unknown people on the internet.

"Here's lookin' at you, RES!"

Hello,
I am new to the cryptocurrency world. There are some doubts about ICOs which i need help in.

Can someone please explain the process of ICO.

1. Once the funds are transfered, how are the altcoins distributed?
2. Does one need to have a wallet before hand or will the ICO make a wallet and send the details?

firebird2490: Now that I'm no longer new to the cryptocurrency world, please send me 2,000 BTC so that my team of misfits and I can build the bestest social media thingy on the planet (or do we live on a moon orbiting the sun - it is the sun, isn't it?).

You should do a pre ann as recommended by coin investor try to be as transparent as possible, you did not mention if this is a pos or a pow,I only recommend that you do not create a huge supply,a moderate supply of 50 million is good for the future of the coin.
My team and I have just started conceptualizing and building. We are leaning towards a pow system.

Dabs already offered a solution for the current problem. In case someone wants to invest please see the investment address the issuer offers to you and then check it against the list of addresses Dabs offered. If you sent coins to this address then these coins are in a safe address held by Dabs. Then forwarded to the multisig escrow address.

Before investing you need to make sure if the release rules of the ICO are fine for you.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

This is very good news for the res team.
Lots of legendary members showing their creativity on thread.
I think They earn this legendary post just to abuse someone then I have a good sense of humor than those legends.

I don't judge res team by their words but judge them by their works.

Dabs already offered a solution for the current problem.

Dabs solved the problem of the devs having no development experience, not knowing the difference between PoS and PoW, and the plethora of other red flags?

edit: Ohhhhhhh the escrow problem, ok.

I am glad to hear it, this Respectonomy project provided escrow for Crowdsale. I think it will be a lot of people interested in investing. And I hope ICO to be a successfully!

Look before you cross, it seems Escrow is not enough to safe investors from scam project, Ascendancy scam people recently and I still want to  understand how it was carried out because they used trusted Escrow also. I'm not saying Respectonomy is a scam, I just want more information about the team member in-case the unexpected occur

Well, isn't this telling! Not only have all of RES' supporters who've stuck it up us naysayers' asses not invested in RES' during the past over six and a half hours, but neither have any of the following RES' team members nor their family and friends who believe in them deemed it worthwhile to contribute:

Foundher: Miss Budchai
FireBird (Developer)
Thunder Bolt (Developer)
VicktorX (Web Developer)
Red Sonja (Digital Marketer)
Fantastic Mr. Fox (Trading Specialist)
Asterix (Strategic Head)

We're talkin' a bare minimum of twenty folks who should've invested by now so to at least make it look like RES is gaining traction. I guess it's easier to have 400+ Twitter users retweet RES' tweets in spite of ONLY having 120 followers, and RES' website has yet to date enjoyed 400 visitors, mostly by us in this thread.

On second thought, perhaps I shouldn't post this reply, else Leroy Fodor might see its potential and include it in StakeMiners' portfolio so that his Investards can reach the coveted -0.90% [sic] lost in their initial investments.

I am not saying that Respectonomy is a scam but recent scam of Ascendancy has shaken the faith of investors and they want to be double sure of project before investing in any ICO.
I hope respectonomy will see influx of investment as time pass by.

Sorry, but you must provide more evidence when you mark anyone as a scam. Of course, no one here likes to fraud, but the only way to say that something is scam proves nothing.
you need to verify your claims otherwise and  you can be labelled as the signature spammer

As anyone who has seen much of prior ICOs knows, there is no way an anonymous team is going to receive 2000 Btc or close to it.

If really, really lucky they might obtain above the apparent refund threshold of 100 Btc.

Would they continue enough in that case?  There isn't much practical difference between a scam and developers just quietly abandoning a project before it becomes more than a token clone coin.

I sometimes read fanfiction and other casually authored stories.  Around 90% of them are never completed.  Almost the same happens for some crypto projects.

One of Gleb Gamow's finds is extra concerning in that context:

You should do a pre ann as recommended by coin investor try to be as transparent as possible, you did not mention if this is a pos or a pow,I only recommend that you do not create a huge supply,a moderate supply of 50 million is good for the future of the coin.
My team and I have just started conceptualizing and building. We are leaning towards a pow system.

The concept of Respectonomy is good IMO, but it would take vast work and planning to develop, so apparently just several weeks of casual efforts and no Github code so far is not a good sign for that happening.

Personally at least, I'd need to see something more before investing.

It is too early to decide on how many percent RESPECTONOMY is scam. It will show very near future, but I just decided not to invest in this kind of scam, where continuous denial, excuses and full negative.
