They can actually do playing outside if they want to. In that aspect I believe that parents must guide their children well in using technology.
In my case, I don't allow my child to play games in computer since they are only 5 below, but I allow them to watch cartoons for just 30 mins. and when they wake up in the afternoon around 4-6pm and 6 am to 7 am in the morning I let them go outside and play with neighbors.

They are not helping us(parents) in the chores in the house because they are either in facebook or playing games. Some I heard are not doing good in school. Technology it is not always a good thing, but this has been known from a very long time, just look at weapons and the incredible potential for destruction that the human being has accumulated in the last century, there are enough atomics bombs to wipe out the entire human population several times.

Actually, technology was invented to help others. It is not created to destory the entire human race. It is on our hand on how we will use it. But in my opinion, the innovation that creates technology would help us to become more progressive and better. It is true that technology can cost destrcution, however, it is also used to repair restore those destruction. Thus, technology  really helps us, we need them.

Technology does not have a moral compass, by definition it is amoral, the ones that can use it for good or evil are humans, and finally atomic bombs were created with the explicit objective to destroy, while there are some innovative uses that could be given to the nuclear arsenal, that is their main objective.

With every technological advantage there are disadvantages ,you must be wise enough to understand the basics and how to use it. For me personally i would not allow my children to sit in front of the ipad for a long time as i have fixed a time table for every activities. If you can do that it is good if not it will affect the growth of your children.

However, the increase in life expectancy is a fact. As for harm, then scientists can be wrong. So it was with Chernobyl. After the accident, not all the people have left from there and live there up to 80-90 years.
