I'm trying to get more people in on the group buy: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=187836.0The offer in that post also extends to everyone in this thread. I'll get your chips mounted along with mine for just a 5% markup from my out-of-pocket cost, plus shipping. (And if you're in Oregon, you can always swing by Portland for in-person pickup to save on shipping costs.) Another reason to get this done. I am in with 5 BTC
Thanks!
Please send the coins to the address and confirm here. (also make sure of your amount - 5BTC exactly will net you decimal amounts of chips too) Check the spreadsheet for the calculator.

Wow, I'm late to this party. I'm interested in 30 chips, but I don't know how long it will take to buy bitcoins, and get them transfered, as I've never done that before. Is there still a snowball's chance in hell of me getting some of these? There is always Bitinstant payable directly to your bitcoin address. Higher fees but you'll have your coins within hours.

I can't seem to find the conversion rate for the exact amount. What is the exact amount of btc per chip, including shipping and fees? I'm needing 30 of 'em, and I need to hit up bit instant ASAP.

Use the spreadsheet calculator, or do the math yourself:
(((num. chips)/10000)*780*1.025)+0.035 =BTC needed in total for 1 member

Alright, we need a bigger push to get these chips in.
I want to ask two things:
(1) OP - can you put your personal stake in? I know you are waiting on partners but everyone will rest easier when your money is up.
(2) Ataxx seems like a nice guy, but he's very new on this forum. We need to start closing out the remaining 200 BTC of stake.
That said, I propose we work to close out the outstanding 198 BTC through any purchaser available.
I will have an agreement for everyone to vote for or against for a deadline for the escrow tonight, so make sure to sign in later!
Remember, the deadline is to protect your bitcoins so that you can put your money down now with a guarantee that you will get it back should these 200 BTC not materialize at least 24 hours before the ship date for Avalon's large order in Germany. This is to create options for people who bought in in good faith that this would materialize quickly, and as such the deadline will create safety for those still wishing to contribute.

There is an exact base amount per chip listed in the top post. It also specifies a specific 0.035 shipping fee for Avalon to the states, and the multiplier for each fee. If you go over a little bit, John K will record the extra and it will go towards your shipping from Conneticut. Or, I assume it could be refunded later by OP.

Well, I am accepting all orders currently to reach that complete point - if anyone's funds comes in before OP's or Ataxx's I will honor them.
As for deadlines, I would put that at next Tues/Wed at latest, and probably earlier as I fully expect Ataxx's funds to cover the remaining balance of what's remaining.

Alright guys. I think I can move towards the next step in my little business plan as far as working with the local engineers in my state. I decided to purchase domains for my small start up group! Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you: (30 second paint job) http://neo-asics.com/ will currently point to the updated spreadsheet I will keep you guys updated on what we plan on doing as far as assembling these machines. After talking to my team we are confident that we can put together a machine using Avalon ASICs chips. But only time can tell until we can put together concrete evidence. We are just doing a lot of research right now but the enthusiasm is really high! If you are interested in having machines made using your chips send me a PM! This will be a first come first serve basis. As for pricing we will be asking for parts + labor. Pricing at this point is unknown but you can base it some what on: https://www.dropbox.com/s/45698vk7bpvbdkp/BOM.xls - from the DIY thread. Obviously you can opt out anytime you want this is just so I can see who is interested in something like this! P.S I need a photoshop guru to design my logo hehe

I like it, ragin...
IMO (granted, I M n00b) - I would like Avalon to receive our order by THEIR close of business Tuesday, at the VERY latest. May Day they will not be working, in all probibilty... will they work at all the remainder of the week?

Woohoo good work OP -
Alright everyone - I have put together an excel document that will allow us to vote on the deadline, but I want some input on what a reasonable deadline is. I know the goal of the deadline is to get in before the deadline for the other group buy.
The deadline for the other group buy is zero hour zulu time may 1, which basically translates to April 30th 23:59:59 UTC, 2013.
I propose our deadline be 24 hours before this to give John K 24 hours to distribute BTC if we fail to hit the total. That would be a deadline of April 29th 23:59:59 UTC, 2013. For easy conversion, that means we would have all BTC in by Monday, April 29th 5 PM Pacific Daylight time, giving everyone until the end of the business day Monday.
Can I get some concensus on this deadline or discussion on anything that needs changing? I will commute home and reply to this thread during, and I will post the full discourse and excel document tracking votes after 11 PM EDT.
edit: for the record, this proposal includes giving JohnK his 1% escrow either way for his hard work.

You are correct, John. It is Labor day... and it is a 3 day event. I originally thought that it BEGAN on May 1, but this year it begins Monday 4/29.
In light of the Labor Day National Holidays, I vote that Avalon receives our order Sunday at the latest. BitSymCom should be reached to see if they will be in office on what we call 'the weekend'.
