You are correct, John. It is Labor day... and it is a 3 day event. I originally thought that it BEGAN on May 1, but this year it begins Monday 4/29.
In light of the Labor Day National Holidays, I vote that Avalon receives our order Sunday at the latest. BitSymCom should be reached to see if they will be in office on what we call 'the weekend'.
Avalon has given the other group buy a promise of honoring up to May 1 0000 UTC in the upcoming production run, so the rationale is to make our return deadline 24 hours before this.

Hmm... Labour day is not celebrated since 2007 in China AFAIK. I guess we'll have to confirm with Avalon for their holidays though.

Will update the sheet when I get home, thanks. How's Ataxx going with the BTC? It would be awesome to nail this in a few hours!

For all those wishing to create a deadline! Please vote promptly in response to this message, so we can have a full process creating this! Alright, here are the terms and the progress tracker on yes/no: http://goo.gl/SO1E4 (spreadsheet)Please publicly state PM me PRIVATE MESSAGE your vote on these deadline terms in response to this. We don't want to flood the thread with negativity, we just want an organized plan. So don't reply to this post. In no way is this deadline to indicate anything negative at all, except the people will have an option if they want their BTC back promptly after 5 PM PST on Monday April 29th (end of business day)! The best case scenario is that we fill these remaining BTC ASAP!!!

The best case scenario is that we fill these remaining BTC ASAP!!! Well, this is what I am hoping for, as if this is cancelled, it will be hard to pull another US shipment/assembly. Since we are close, let's try and make it happen. My vote is to wait till the last reasonable time till we can place order for first chip production - whenever that is. If it is 29th this month, as stated, then my vote is YES, otherwise, NO. If we miss the first production batch, it is useless, hence YES to cancel anytime after that.

Ok to deadline of Apr 29th 23:59 UTC. If Ataxx cash transaction goes smoothly, he/she should have the coins in a few hours tops so Monday is more than enough. Although it worries me a little about the pressure on John to return all coins as quick as possible.

Although it worries me a little about the pressure on John to return all coins as quick as possible. We can populate the form with return addresses so he has an easy time. I know he already has his own controlled payment tracker, and he will still get his very nice fee. If he has 24 hours, that seems good. He'll be able to multiply all payments by 99% and send that amount back. John, please let us know if you feel you need more than 24 hours to return funds, so we can pull back the deadline accordingly.

I know you're trying to help but honestly you're just stirring up more anxiety for people. It's their BTC so it will be their decision. If you want out just be out. I personally think we need to at least wait until Ataxx's final outcome would be. If he does not manages to get any BTC and we need to wait longer and you feel like you want your BTC then ask for it back. We don't have to return everyone's BTC. We only return if you want out of the group buy. I just want best for everyone and that is to push for that 100% BTC sent to Escrow so we can finally pre-order. It was very unfortunate that a few parties with 50+ BTC pulled out last minute when we have enough pledges to start sending to Escrow. That was the MAJOR problem. I was extremely pissed about that because it pretty much messed everything up. Finally got a demo site up. I feel really good about it http://neo-asics.com/Let's get these chips pre-ordered so we can move on to brainstorming about building housing for the chips. Again if you are fully committed with the group buy then stay until the very end. If you feel like you need to pull out and put your BTC else where then feel free to do so. I ain't go anywhere!

Like I said, literally just setting expectations, not trying to stir negative emotions. People want in but they want to know there is an coordinated exit if there need be, or they won't join in.

Yeah I know man the only reason why zefir's batches goes quick is because he took BTC instead of pledges. We wasted almost a week for pledges then started collecting. While we collected people ignore their PMs and over 400+ BTC pledged was pulled out. This isn't counting the guy that said he had 390 BTC to pledge. The best way is to get more people onto the wagon so we can fulfill the group buy! I'm going to make another post on Reddit now.

Click the spreadsheet in the first post, there's still space! The more BTC contributed, the better! Know any friends? There are around 2000+ chips left.

Spreadsheet says 12.82 chips per BTC, with 0.035 BTC added on for shipping.
EDIT: Until the counter on the first page says 801 / 801, there's still room. We are now on a "first paid, first served" basis.
