Does anyone want to sell me one chip? Like a stupid idiot I ordered 15 chips, and now everybody is talking Klondikes in powers of two.

If you get 15 chips put on a Rev1 board, you'd have more room for overclocking.  I was actually thinking of going 14 on one of my boards.

If you have issues and need a last resort for board fabrication etc... drop me an email. I am keen on doing Revision 2 of BKKCoins Klondike that can overclock so will be looking at building those in August or September. darin.bicknell@gmail.com

Also RagingAzn628 (Tom) - avalonasics@gmail.com please confirm that you have received my shipping address and contact information via email thanks.

Hey guys I just called Gary and he said the reason why the sample chips are stuck in customs is because Avalon put the value for them at $3 and we were just unlucky and were part of their random check. He also said Avalon should not just put them as "IC Chips" and so that's why customs thought it was fishy. I told him that they were basically un-programmed ASIC Chips and he said that's what he needs to clear with customs. So it should be cleared by tomorrow.

Any word?

Anyone else getting that queezy feeling in your gut about Ragin?

He sure spends a lot of time gathering funds, but once he has them.... crickets.

I think a lack of updates is discomforting anywhere.  The updates have been coming as new stuff pops up, but we're in a holding pattern for chips, and Raging's in-house production can't really do anything until they get sample chips to test stuff.

That being said, an update (even "Nothing new guys, sit tight") would make me feel better, especially since the bitcoin community has been rocked by so many scams.

That's not true at all. BKKCoins has been releasing designs and updates for weeks now, long before he recieved any sample chips.

If Ragin is going to use an existing design, and press boards once that design is complete, that should be announced.

That would be better located in Raging's assembly service thread, which it is.  He's going to be making Avalon clones and K16s/K64s I believe.  Look for his assembly thread, it's outlined there.  AFAIK raging can't do anything until he gets sample chips and/or BKK finishes his design.  I just want to know things are moving along.

I understand the concern, but my take is that Ragingazn is an honest guy. If he wasn't, why would he have asked for the ok from the community to use the sample chips that were not allocated to other board designers?

I suspect he has his head buried in PCB designs at the moment, working on his neoasics project, while waiting for the chips.

Having said that, I agree that it would be very helpful if he could monitor this thread, as several of us do need his help. Some need confirmation that their shipping address has been registered. In my case, I need confirmation that it has been changed.

Just a heads-up for those of you who still haven't decided on a chip assembly group: Avalon's promised ship date is coming up in a week or two.

ryepdx's group is going to close for orders in 2 days (7/7). I chose this group because it's US-based and I think less volume might mean faster turnaround. Link is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=203388.0

There's also steamboat, here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192916.0

Good luck to all.

I'm looking to buy 14 chips (had 2 left over and it seems difficult to find someone building K1s).

What's up guys? I don't have any other news / info at this time. I actually get all my info from JohnK he has the order logins etc. I do not. I've been extremely busy with RL stuff. I'm trying to finish everything up here so that when the chips come in I can put all my time and energy into shipping them out. I also called Gary again he said the sample chips were still stuck in customs but should be cleared by Thursday...

He said they do random checks and we were one of the unlucky ones Sad

Yes!  After all what's the point of buying things if it doesn't make us happy?
