the last run-up was kinda unexpected and swift.. and the one before that too. this time, it seems like we're waiting around for the momentum to build up.. hopefully it'll unfold out differently this time.

I voted 110%, but I really think 101-105% (of the market price when the bids must be submitted - which could vary from the market price on the day of who wins by a lot)

there are simply too many average joe's that are 100% certain we are going way up in the next few months. Markets are not kind to good ol boy investors that have it all figured out. We are going down until most average joe's have had enough, it is at that moment they will sell and bitcoin will sky rocket and burn them all. But we aren't there yet, why? because i am an average joe and i have no intention of selling right now. If I ever get an inkling of losing patience and wanting to sell, then buy every bitcoin you can afford. But i am not there yet. |

The last rally was not unexpected. It occured when a major trendline was broken after the 3 day macd had been up for weeks. I was able to get in entirely using a stoploss order at $460 and didnt even have to watch the charts.

I'm starting to wonder if I should be following finex instead of stamp.
finex has been my primary for at least a week now... probably just because it tends to fit my random lines better.  as you can see, I am clearly expecting a re-trace to somewhere near the 555 range. |

am I the only one who thinks the price will stay 580-620 until after the auction in order to have a "low" starting price for bidding? I'm surprised people aren't more bullish about the impending auction

I don't think the people bidding on this auction are the type who want to get involved in market manipulation, or not at least for this tiny amount of money. Also I don't think the amounts involved are big enough to warrant market manipulation. It might not even be profitable let alone worth the risk of committing a crime. |

I don't think the people bidding on this auction are the type who want to get involved in market manipulation, or not at least for this tiny amount of money. Also I don't think the amounts involved are big enough to warrant market manipulation. It might not even be profitable let alone worth the risk of committing a crime. personally, I think the people that have the wherewithal to make a winning bid on this auction have a longer-term view than the ones who are currently trading and making the market. I think the chance of these coins getting "flipped" on the exchanges after the auction are lower than the chances of the losing bidders buying back in at market prices. but that's just a complete guess. |

There is no "starting price". Each bidder submits one sealed bid, for 1 to 10 lots of coins, and that is it. Still doesn't change the fact that this is a closed system where only the bid takers know the price of the big makers. such old-school black-box type operations. So I think if I accepted coins 10 or 20% would bid above the market price this, then I would hardly be so stupid and would sell them on the market. I would keep them until the market price is significantly higher. And then I would also sell in stages not too much to shake the market. Therefore, I do not understand this unnecessary uncertainty. And even if I would bid below the market price, i would wait until the price has risen acceptable. Finally, no investor would like to make loss.  In order to bring the stock to fall significantly, this field ranges, i think, the volume of this small amount of coins is too low. |
