If I wasn't so lazy from a belly full of steak and wine, I'd dig up the old "Oh no, my bitcoins are only worth what they were last week!" meme.

It's hilarious how a minor rise brings out the moon trains and a minor dip becomes a crash. Gimme a break.

We're not even below $460.

To me, it's a good sign when banks try and block crypto.

They're afraid.

To me, it's a good sign when banks governments try and block crypto.

They're afraid.

ya in places like bangladesh, bitcoin could be seriously disruptive. If it got out of hand their fiats could implode. they write it off as AML, but i think you're right they are afraid of losing control.

once the african dollar was hyper-inflated and it became worthless, but its not the fact that they hyper-super-infalted  it that killed it, poeple no longer trured their money and started using USDs and Currencies which were more sure to hold value.

same thing will happen with bitcoin, its going to take some time... but i believe we're going to see some similar events here and there, and then everywhere, and poeple will suddenly lose confidence in fiats and start using crypto.

its no secret more and more poeple understand fiats.
its no secret more and more poeple understand cryptos.

poeple are just blocked and blinded by the normalcy bias.

its a matter of time now. could take awhile

for now, bitcoin is the insiders currency of choice.

Because I think we are on the brink of some exciting things very soon here I would like to reminisce a bit.

For those of you that don't remember what it was like a year ago, Bitcoin had a pretty boring Summer.  We had many posts about being tired of the price stagnation.  Bitcoin wasn't appearing to go anywhere.  It was very much a time like this one.  I really don't think there was a huge sense of urgency to buy.  Most people waited.  The price did move a little after the Silk Road bust then rebounded to about $200 for a couple weeks.  Many people thought it was just going to go back down.  But then within a few short weeks the price rose to over $1000.

All this to warn newbies that things can change very quickly.  It is almost like it happens when we least expect it.  And don't be in denial when the price does start moving upwards that it will move back down.  Sure, it could, but it could also move past our last ATH in a manner that is beyond belief.  Just think about it.  Wink  There is a reason some of us are such devout holders.

You're right, it will definitely happen again.  It's not a matter of if, only when.  It scares me more to be sitting in fiat than in btc, because it can rise so fast. Which is why I'm pretty much all in and still buying more on the dips.  I sleep better at night that way.  Wink

I may grumble a little bit here and there about the current state, but in reality I'm not sweating this at all.

i don't hold bitcoin because i believe the story, I trust no one and question everything its in my nature, might be why i love to speculate, i hold bitcoins because there is a chance the story could be true. it makes sense.

but at 400$ who cares? pick wtv story you like, bitcoin is a speculation, a ponzi, a commodity, magic internet money, wtv, pick a story, and see how far down the rabbit hole goes!  Wink

please poeple don't panic buy your life saving into this.... its an experiment, treat it as such.

But people are more apt to panic buy when the price is approaching the ATH then they are when the price is low and it has been stagnant.

So if you are going to panic buy, do it now!   Grin

(That said, invest only what you can afford to lose 100% of as Adam has so wisely pointed out)
