Bitcoin's fundamental technology hasn't changed, but it doesn't matter anymore. The mobile payment market has changed radically in the last year. Consumers can now carry their wallet with them on their NFC enabled cell phones or even their wristwatches. Tell me again, what incentive will they ever have to convert -- for a fee, no less -- to a volatile digital token which can be easily stolen or lost if they're not a network security subject matter expert?

But.. but... Chuckee! The dollar is doomed! Once it crashes, everyone will buy bitcoins to protects their wealth!

lmao. First of all, there is no economic meltdown looming. The US government can write itself IOUs for decades to come. If you're waiting for this to happen, you're going to become the skeleton guy sitting at his keyboard.

Second, when it does eventually happen, people will turn to the same assets that they have for thousands of years: precious metals. They don't want digital tokens that have no intrinsic value outside of a computer.

But keep holding, and telling yourselves that your beanie baby coins are going to be in huge demand again someday. Suckers are born every minute, and we need you all.  Cheesy

Noob question. But on Bitfinex (just started today) it says

Order Count    Bid Price    Amount    Total Amount

Is the "amount" in bitcoins? and whats the difference between amount and total amount?

Impressive, however I'm unconvinced the bottom is in just yet. I mean if I weren't going to bed right now if wait another hour to make a real prediction.

From what I see this is just a bull trap. Sell!

actually a little green going on across BTC and LTC.  Hopefully this is the start of a little recovery.   Don't want to speak too soon though because it could get munched up by red any second...   Cry

Amount is in bitcoin, yes. Total amount is the sum of all offers before that one (the book depth up to that price).   Wink

Thank you very much for that explanation.
