Let's cut to the chase, which altcoin do you recommend?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

None especially at the moment, but Paycoin seems interesting, perhaps it will be even more interesting than Neo & Bee.  I had great hopes for Brock Pierce's RealCoin, but I have never heard of it again.  I wonder if Autumn Radtke was working on one.  Perhaps Sergei Mavrodi will launch something, now that he is in the Bitcoin Foundation?

Nice jump by litecoin today. Wonder if we might see a similar move by bitcoin soon. Still think the long term bear market is with us, though. But not shorting this level, for sure.

The stamp incident probably hurt Bitcoin's price. Now stamp's back Bitcoin might go up.

Thanks for the highly researched information. I've just traded all my bitcoin for Paycoin. Looking forward to the interesting ride. Going to get paycoin logo tattooed on my ass now. Hopefully they wont change it again.

more likely the whole fiasco just shook up people's confidence even more. after this sideways correction plays out, lower lows will come imo.

Realcoin changed name to tether and it's possible to ask for an invite to the trial right now. However I've waited for it for over a month but still didn't get any.

My problem is getting into the head of the regular (nowadays often Chinese) Bitcoin idiot investor.

I'm thinking: "Stamp got hacked. *Yawn!* It happens. This is Bitcoin after all. They took some time to make themselves harder to hack again, which is responsible. All in all they handled the situation reasonably well, which is cautiously bullish."

Who knows what the idiot investor is thinking. Maybe: "OH NOES HAX!!!11 GOXGOXGOX!!1 *Runs in circles!*"

The logo of Sergei Mavrodi's "MMM" company was spotted among the sponsors of the Bitcoin Foundation, last December:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2mgi7w/well_known_ponzi_scheme_become_silver_member_on/

It was removed after people noticed it, maybe his membership was canceled:

The biggest obstacle is time. Still too many people think altcoins may be an answer, so they are holding off on Bitcoin. Ether pumpers got kicked in the teeth by IBM. CPY pumpers got slapped by Overstock. Merge mined parasites don't prove their mettle  Folks gotta realize that Bitcoin is the PoW the heavyweight champ that paid its dues.

What did IBM do/say about Ether? --Not that I own any at all.

I'm all BTC, Monero (XMR) and Counterparty (XCP). I think those 3 will be the most useful coins in the future.

BTC = Open P2P ledger
XMR = True anonymity digital cash
XCP = Smart contracts, digital assets etc (Built on top of bitcoin network)

I'm expecting the price to remain around this level for about another week or two. The outcome of the Ross Ulbricht trial might cause a bit of movement, though I'm not sure in which direction.
