Jeez another 200k sell wall @ BTC-e. Do these guys honestly think 270 is a good price for their Bitcoins? Or are they just trying to keep the price down?

They'll run out or coins to mess around with soon & then the price will settle at what it should be. I always wonder why people would want to keep the price down, it doesn't make sense. Surely if you have/own BTC's you should want the price to go as high as possible, I know I do. I hope there are many shorters shitting themselves at the moment worrying about not being able to pay their bills Grin Grin
Shorting BTC has been a fool proof strategy for over a year. Well not any more bitches, WUT you gonna do now Wink
I think it makes sense to people who know the true potential of bitcoin and try to keep the price down to accumulate as much as possible while it's still possible.

I'm still waiting for tarmi to reveal his winning shorting formula.

I closed my first leveraged long position this morning based upon the growing mountain of asks appearing near 300. Bitcoin marches on regardless! Smiley

We are going up again. Smiley
Wow! Litecoin +20% on coinmarketcap.Nice pump.

Litecoin has a strong wall at 5 dollars + It's gonna take some force to break... traders seem trepidatious to push through it, but it can be done if slowly I think...

really?? your post was from just 2 hours ago...rofl

honestly, we have no idea what´s next....

no TA can predict this market. It´s more like a bingo... good luck to you all!!

It's more like a crap shoot. Nobody can predict what way it's going to move reliably. Occasionally someone makes a lucky guess and shouts from the rooftops they know what's going to happen next 100% of the time. They always get it wrong sooner or later.

Litecoin seems almost like a derivative of bitcoin. They seem to wait till bitcoin goes up then they all buy but it's not 1:1. It's the initiative that seems to coincide. So it found the force it needed and now 5$ is in the rear view mirror.

I doubt there would have been a significant pump had bitcoin not held 275.... which just appeared to have broken =/ again...

But you're right... the market is unpredictable... reading the analysis from outlets like NewsBTC or Cryptocoinnews 99% of the time is >50% wrong and these guys are professionals. So It's like a casino almost.

Somehow I doubt this will have the effect many of us were expecting.  There are already such vehicles on the market unless I'm unaware of something that differentiates COIN from the others.

What might really drive the price up is the other EURO members refusing to pay debts and in anticipation of capital controls people buying BTC, spain, italy, etc.

Bitcoin searches going up in italy especially...

I did not expect to see Bitcoin have another leg up after just rising the previous day. It is nice to see the $270 price range again, it has been a few months since Bitcoin was at these prices.

+1

This, and time.

I'm firmly in the camp that thinks Bitcoin doesn't need any fancy killer apps or major global events. It just needs time and steady rise (over the scale of years).

The Greek finance minister suggested they might start issuing digital IOUs to work together with their remaining Euros if their financial situation deteriorated more. Although he quickly retracted his statement, then resigned the idea must have been discussed at a high level. Bitcoins would be a great alternative to digital IOUs and ordinary Greeks might start using them if there are not enough Euro notes to go around. If the government endorsed their use the price could go extremely high.

Going to need some big shopping bags to get there!

EDIT: shorts down to 10,000. Bears are burning.

Bitcoin jumped up to $278 now, last time I checked it was at $273. It is being very volatile today, which i think is exciting. It is very hard to predict what Bitcoin will do next. $300 is a lot closer now, I wonder if Bitcoin will reach it.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we didn't wait until after the weekend for the next leg up.

Hopefully we're done with the $250s and can focus on cracking the $280 barrier.

We might go sideways in the $260s for a while first.

Then again, the buzz created by the Grexerendum might speed things up.

I'm just as happy with a nice slow steady rise, up another $10-$20 every week or two with a sideways period in between.

The market has been behaving itself quite nicely since the start of June. Let's keep it up.
