That's pretty stupid I believe. They don't use Bitcoin as a major currency and it has nothing to do with the price. Some whales want to get pressure in down. you see, it might not matter if ISIS uses bitcoin or not. if France starts panicking they could go berserk on bitcoin even without any proof. Yup, terrorist attacks leads to finger pointing. you see the public doesn't like bitcoin very much, for them its just some criminal thing that made some nerds rich and they ask for action, especially in france. so it could become ugly but not necessarily so. I don't think regulated exchanges have much to worry about. I would probably get out of BTC-E though. I get my euros by selling bitcoins via localbitcoins. I can see them cracking down on people like me trying to lump us in with terrorists. It's such a better way to get euros than going through banks. I might have to get my landlord to finally take bitcoins for rent instead of counting on localbitcoin sales. I'm guessing they're looking for specific patterns, then they'll know what coins to look for. SR wasn't too hard to figure out once they found a couple of loose threads. For the EU to spend more resources on monitoring the BTC blockchain would make sense too. https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3tbw2j/reusable_payment_codes_could_make_blockchain/Can't wait for this to be released. “You know what this means? This means that all those companies who are sprouting up to provide blockchain analytics on the source of funds — these companies are not going to last. They’re going to cease to exist. They are a temporary aberration. They’re building on the past instead of the future.”

The article is an easy read, but I'll try. In the old days, we used to have a single receive address for our wallets. The downside, was anyone could peek into your wallet, and see how rich you are, and also reveal which hookers and drug dealers you use. These days, we use throwaway receive address. But that requires you to generate a new one each time. Not very good for printing on your business cards. Now we will be able to generate an address that can be used by anyone, that can't be traced beyond that of a transaction between two people.
Cool! Way cool. If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend checking out Odom's presentation- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0UYzucfBLs&authuser=0

stats to seem to point to the fact that more guns = less mass shootings but this seems fishy as this all started in gun crazed USA. the root problem isn't guns it's poeple. modern society manufactures nut jobs. 1 nut job for every million poeple would be my guess.

... instead of allowing the people to defend themselves ...
Are they people who seriously believe that people should be able/prepared to defend themselves against AK47 inside theaters ? maybe the ak47 wouldn't have been there had he known there would likely be 10 random people with guns in the theater

The military has lots of guns doesn't it?
Yes. But they keep them in the armories and don't allow soldiers to carry them around on-base.

A nutjob with a pillow will kill fewer people than a nutjob with an M or an AK. maybe the ak47 wouldn't have been there had he known there would likely be 10 random people with guns in the theater Because would worry that he, too, might die? right i think it's likely the data is somehow misinterpreted.

Man, I'm pro-gun but the way the y-axis on that chart have been selected is deliberately misleading. Not to mention it surely should compare ownership and not just sales. This kind of thing does not help the cause.

This kind of thing does not help the cause. right it seem to have required an increase of ~500% in gun sales to decrease violent crime rate by ~50%

... instead of allowing the people to defend themselves ...
Are they people who seriously believe that people should be able/prepared to defend themselves against AK47 inside theaters ? absolutely... the terrorists chose a soft target gun free zone .. obama said: " "we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries." -- OBAMA yet here we are with a soft target slaughtered in france.... AGAIN.. second time in a row in less than a year. (not even counting the Australian soft target slaughter by terrorists in the coffeee shop cafe this year)
