The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Exactly. Will likely work to make more fractured camps imho. Or again,
Bitcoin core will just at as a blocker, on this cluster go around into 2018.

Then again, pigs they may be a flying. 🤔

Yeah, seems misleading, without blockstream and bitcoin core devs

Those are the same actors that lost a lot of money trying to stop bitcoin appreciation. Without Blockstream and core devs this fork goes nowhere.

Probably yes.Very suspicious!

To be clear, the proposal as far as I can see does not activate BIP141, but is a completely new deployment which would be incompatible with the BIP141 deployment. I'm not sure how that can be considered "immediate" activation. Surely immediate activation would just be for miners to start signalling and segwit would be activated in 4-5 weeks. The proposal seems to require a lower 80% threshold, I assume because they were unable to convince 95% of the hashpower to go trigger activation.

I think the Barry Silbert agreement is very ill considered, and clearly lacking peer review from the technical community. Suggestions of a HF in 4 months are completely unrealistic and without technical merits. But more importantly, closed door agreements between selected participants is not how to garner consensus to change a $30bn decentralized system. The purpose of my email is to try and assist in the "immediate activation of segwit" which only requires hashrate to participate; and to provide some techincal input since I have done a great deal of research and development into the topic.

A BTC450 sell wall at $2125.00 on Stamp, once it gets eaten through, expect it to fly to the $2160-70 region or some dipping if it gets cancelled. It's falling fast though, BTC10 at a time!

Very surprised that alts are still rising - everything has gone crazy over the last few days - I'm out on quite a few positions due to such a crazy pump. Sure it'll be back down again at some point

If that agreement and its participants is true then they almost certainly can get the hashing power to do it. Gotta say I'm slightly shocked there ain't one exchange or developer on there but perhaps they're expected to come on board.

Bearstamp
There's only 59 bitcoins left in that bearwall, down from 350 or so. Not bearstamp for too much longer, I think.
