But still, everybody knows that Bitcoin is the real thing, and the rest just clones and scamcoins.
Scamcoins are like gambling, poor people clinging to delusions of riches ripped off by those who understand the game.

I wouldn't generalize it; but this is pretty much the story for most of them. Roll Eyes

I can't help but keep seeing the pennant formation forming.

A few days, a week, even, and we may well get another 50-100%+ launch.

All of the exchanges seem to support, and I know I'm not the only one seeing this.

Was it a pizza, perchance?  Grin

The altcoins are sharply up today http://coinmarketcap.com/
Wondering if it has something to do with a posible weakness in bitcoin price.

Max Keiser has been pushing litecoin a bit lately. :/

Close,  Doner kebab. Tasted even better than normal.  Smiley Calculated my expenses and I'd only spend 15% in fiat of the "normal" price.

I thought it was apparent even before Gandhi posted the chart.

Some people obviously think we're crashing but that's probably just wishful thinking.

I see it as consolidation, and a great opportunity to buy coins before they go through the roof.

My own wishful thinking is for the price to stall for a couple of weeks until my dollars reach Virtex or even go down below $500 but that's highly unlikely. Hopefully I won't have to pay quadruple digits.

Word.  One of my favorite things in life is to find an altcoin supporter and whittle away their arguments until they literally admit "I don't care, I just want USD!"

Your dabbling actually delegitimizes bitcoin and what it is trying to do.  As one of the most common critiques is "What just stops someone from making derpcoin and making my holdings worth less?" You just prove them right and are actually making your bitcoins worth less.  You are participating in irrational behavior. Stop it.

Making BTC from scamcoins is possible, but extremely difficult. Most of the times you will end up losing BTC if you mess with scamcoins - I know by heart. I was lucky enough to buy LTC at 0.002BTC, I sold for good when it went at aprox. 0.02, and I think I will never ever invest again in LTC. I feel lucky (because it was just sheer luck, a silly gamble that paid off), now I won't test my luck any more.

For the record: I lost BTC with XRP and with some other scamcoin. Not a lot in absolute terms because I took those as a game, but a lot in relative (%) terms.

Easily debunked.
If I trade my Bitcoins for Litecoins I'll usually do it instead of trading them for Dollars, and since the price of LTC follows BTC it actually decreases the selling pressure.
