I somehow inadvertently inserted myself into this wager, out of frustration, mostly... However, i am more than happy to be the third adjudicator in this and also act as a third reminder of such wager! Rules are crystal clear, that i am sure i will not be needed.
Good Luck to you both!
quoted for reference good luck and thanks hisslyness You can also volunteer yourself as a referee, that will over look the process and give decisions in case there is a dispute. if im around i will certainly give my opinion on it if there is a dispute as i have read it and it seems clear enough. but, i would do that anyway If nothing else,we here in these parts have no problem spouting off our opinions! Just walked in from the few days at the casino to a frozen home! Damn furnace died. Not only that but the goddamn receiver wont turn on either so i have no sound or tv to steam too atm. WTF, how does that happen in 2 days. Lightning strike? Something similar happened to a colleague of mine - furnace was out, stereo pooched, router fried. He only figured it out because there was a tiny bit of tracking along the concrete coming from the foot of one one of the feet of his airtight stove where he also noticed some tiny balls of metal. edit: Whoa. Morning fog. edit2: man... maybe it's something worse.

I’m not thrilled to see that three states have had their strategic Bitcoin reserve plans shot down already and nobody has managed to cross the finish line yet, but I have high hopes for Utah on March 7th. It seems every time companies or states have a vote on Bitcoin they vote no. I’d love to see someone break the seal.
Well Utah knows about the seal much more than any state in the usa. SO MAYBE IT HAPPENS.

1. You cannot "transfer your bitcoin to ETFs" in US yet, afaik, but some applications to do that were filed at the end of January. 2. Tax implications in US, again, are unfavorable as you will be hit with a cap gains tax, presumably, unless there is a clarification. 3. This is the easiest way to 'load" the BSR, so, perhaps, #1 and #2 would be solved in time. Not to mention the NYKNYC concept. I am surprised that planB does not "follow" this. From the financial manipulation (borrowing, lending, etc), ETFs are easier because they are securities and securities lending is robust with much better loan interest %. The loan interest on bitcoin is high, currently. All "financial types", like GS, Paul Tudor Jones, etc, are using ETFs because they are used to securities.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

Never go full. Personally, I have no problem with guys putting a percentage of their BTC value into ETFs, yet once we learn how to store our BTC, we have gotten over a large part of the hurdle., yet I also know it can be scary to self-custody, and the passing down (inheritance) can be quite tough with self-custody. To give away some information while living, but not too much that the person might access coins prior to permission. Trust can be really difficult, even with people we are close to. It seems to me that holding your own coins is not so much about being a maxi, but maybe attempting to appreciate that bitcoin has no value if at least a certain decent percentage take coins into their own self-custody. I don't know what the minimum of that percentage has to be, since even if we might not take coins into our own self-custody, we have to have the power to do so, too, yet if everyone is holding BTC through a custodian, then it becomes easier to attack the self-custodial folks. Perhaps self-custody is self-preservation? I am not going to say it is easy - maybe a reason for us to continue to search locations to spend our bitcoin to encourage self-custody, even if we might be doing spend and replace. Dear Lord, he's moving in the wrong direction! This happens when you are becoming too rich! Do you think it is an all or nothing question? Self-custody versus third-party custody? Is there an acceptable amount to keep with third parties? I am tentatively thinking that if our stash is becoming larger, then we are going to want to have some parts of it held in different ways. With self-custody we think of hot, medium and cold storage, but we also might sometimes think about multi-sig, and some forms of multi-sig give up some control over the stash. I don't claim to know, since there can be scary things about keeping track and storing seeds, and some folks might feel that they don't have secure places to hide some kind of an engraved device...or maybe one or two buildings (geographically separated is another luxury), and then needs to update the new passwords or new seeds that might get generated from time to time. Bitcoin is Plan A Give up your keys? Not your coins! This be called Plan B
Plan B is a bust Plan A is for the future keep stacking Bitcoin#haikuWhat happens if a guy has concluded that he has enough bitcoin or more than enough? Is such a status even possible from your perspective, vapourminer? I am thinking that some bitcoiners are becoming surprised that they are not really able to spend their bitcoin as fast as it is increasing in value, especially once getting to a certain stack size. So, then there becomes questions regarding how to hold it and where to store it, including considering if there might be some advantages with third-party custodial arrangements, not that it needs to be with an ETF.

With FTX funds going out next week, countries showing they’re stacking, states lining up to vote on proposals… We could see things get very exciting very quickly. I’m crossing my fingers for Utah to lead the way and who knows, maybe GameStop adopting BTC (maybe) will get some other big companies off of 0.

No worries hisslyness, it will be a smooth sailing as our dearest and nearest JJG has a little amount to lose in this case. But we have to wait till 1st Jan 2027 to end this, it's a long wait.

OK so maybe the haiku was a little too cryptic. Here's in plain prose. Man... He, of all people... Who would've thunk? He is Dutch. In The Netherlands there's a "wealth tax" on all assets, independent of capital gains. The bad guy in me is thinking that he just sold a nice chunk and bought some American paper btc. The rest of his stash, he never had in the first place - did he? - or, you know, The Netherlands are surrounded by water, so boats are plenty. An accident is always around the corner.
