Bring it on I say. From the ashes, crypto 2.0 can emerge. Bitcoin has been great, but recent events (not to mention Bitcoin facilitating all the illegal stuff) have been very damaging for crypto in general.

Bitcoin would go to 1 cent if this was true. Everything makes sense now. Karpeles made Bitcoin so he could launder his money through a online drug site. The site would grow popular due to its ability to not need a middle man, this would appeal to drug dealers, Karpeles target market. Next his site gets busted. He hires a frontman (Ross) to take the blame so he can work on plan B: Attack of the Willy bot. Using funds from SR and user deposits he pumped BTC to 1200. Then he will cash out his funds and use that to deepen the rabbit whole. He would tip off newsweek to get crazy jorno's after Dorian Nakamoto while Karpeles Sataoshi escapes. He would play dumb so no one would expect him. He was an idiot fat kid, no one would suspect he was the master mind behind one of the most disruptive technologies ever.

If anyone is feeling uneasy about the market, I suggest you consult the FAT twitter oracle, he should be able to feed you small snippets of vague meaningless information to boost his social media whilst predicting nothing particularly then after any likely positive or negative event twist to be an I told you so!

Bitcoin has been great, but recent events (not to mention Bitcoin facilitating all the illegal stuff) have been very damaging for crypto in general. Yes and no. Public perception can change quickly and I'd guess that 90% of people who take the time to look at Bitcoin quickly realise that MtGox, scams and hacks are not Bitcoin's fault, and that Bitcoins use on Silk Road merely evidences some of it's (very desirable) core strengths (financial privacy, freedom to transact). Besides, I'm not convinced people's perception of Bitcoin is any worse than people's perception of banks and bankers. It's about even and only because people don't really understand what Bitcoin is. No crypto will replace national currency any time soon, but a globally accepted form of money - maybe even a reserve currency - who knows?

Bah. If a hacker can install malicious software in the offline computer where you generate keys and sign transactions, it can steal your coins in several ways. That was well known (although many bitcoiners, and makers of hardware wallets in particular, will call you paranoid or worse if you dare to point that out.)

without great news? No way. Something like a million coins changed hands over the frantic trading down to $150. Huge volumes. For it to go lower, presumably volumes would have to be higher still - and all the traders who thought they were getting the right price would have to change their minds. If it happens, volume will need to be epic.

more I got this email from SaxoBank yesterday TITLE: MARKET GAP in CHFDear Client, Due to today’s exceptional market movement in CHF crosses, we have been filling client orders and positions in an extremely illiquid market. Once we are better able to establish true market liquidity, all executed fills will be revisited, and will be revised and amended to more accurate levels. This may result in a worse execution rate than the originally filled level.Yours sincerely‚ Saxo Bank

TL;DR: You got nothing. You make up "facts," and, when called on it, retort with "don't seem to be arguing in good faith." Why not warn people about our uppity negro Obama letting filthy wetbacks put money in the same banks where white folks keep theirs? Or is aztecminer doing a good job? Why not warn them about 9/11 too, just to be an all-in-one libertard cliche? Oh wait, BitChick's financial adviser from the nuthouse, rptiela or whatever his name, already got that covered. Okay then, everything seems to be in order...
Have I missed anything ugaise?
I have a friend who is the CEO of a local bank and we were talking over Christmas Dinner about it. He complained that his FDIC premiums went up even though it's a very conservative bank with high lending standards but he was getting effectively punished because of misbehavior by other banks. The bank had to pay for the premiums by either taking it out of their profit margin or by increasing fees such as NSF charges. Wait, you expect me to feel sorry for you friend, the bank CEO, rly? Because his profits are down & he might take out his rage on his account holders? Do you realize how insane that is? What next, should I feel sorry for serial killers when prices of ammo go up? Because they might get angry & shittier than they already are, thus doing more damage to mankind? You are poisoning the well by lumping in real problems with conspiracy theories that I have never even mentioned and are completely irrelevant anyway. That's what I mean by arguing in bad faith.
No, I'm pointing out that a typical libertard is a delightful grab bag of paranoia, and that crazy comes here to lay eggs. Inb4: "Ad hominem!!!1!" Yes, exactly that. I don't give the same credence to the economic assertions of paranoid schizophrenics as to those of folks who don't claim to be "a little tea pot, short and stout." Call me crazy. P.S. My friend, who is the CEO of the world, tells me things are going glowingly. Checkmate
