Please, can anyone try if it works? I get a 403 (forbidden). Thanks! Your first useful post! Arguably the first iteration of this was more useful And second. And third. You can wait for the fourth tho.

Why is the price going up in reaction to good news?
Is the topsy turvy world being flipped right side up?
Cat's out of the bag. Time to get long. The cat's dead anyway. Just let it bounce. Not to the moon yet perhaps, but this cat still has most of its 9 lives left.

Conflict of interest happens even on traditional platforms.
However a decentralized exchange would solve this age old issue.
Yep, there are many complaints of users of Forex exchanges having to compete with the exchange's own currency desk. Of course, the government can always pass laws. Then everyone thinks they're protected and it still happens anyway. http://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/031714/how-forex-fix-may-be-rigged.aspThink about floor brokers. They have way more information than the average trader and most likely trade their own accounts. They are taking and placing the large orders (making a market) so they know where all the stops are and when/where the big money is coming in. They can quickly trade the futures market to offset risk. This type of "insider" trading is not exactly new.

What does NYSE have to do with an ETF that is to launch on the NASDAQ?
I guess that NYSE will publish the BTC price provided by Coinbase, or NYSE will set up a price index that will be used by Coinbase?

Without the underlying asset increasing dramatically in value, how do the NYSE investors see ROI?

I enjoy "the 10 years time my friends" comments. While yes I believe in 10 years Bitcoin will be a boom its funny to assume everyone can HODL with no cares in the world. Life comes at you fast, House, cars, wives, damn kids. HODLing is great but how you control your HODLing is going to be far more important in the future than most could imagine. What is life changing money for you could be a car to others. What is your financial capabilities to HODL is the question that each one of you should be asking - That is why the key point pounded home time and time again is never to put more in than you can afford to lose... but another way to look at it is money you wont miss. I mean shit, imagine you had put 50 bucks into BTC every week or 2 weeks from the time it started... I can bet you would be so far ahead right now, not bad for savings.

AFAIK, Coinbase does not invest in bitcoin either. Their profit does not depend on the price of bitcoin, but on how much USD they process. I would guess (just guess) that they are valued so much because they plan to become a competitor to PayPal (including dollar-to-dollar payments rather than just bitcoin-to-dollar like BitPay).

If another crypto succeeds, adapting to any coin would be trivial. Also, see: Velocity of money.

Certainly not because bitcoin is undervalued jorge! You are hilarious.
