The debt imposed on Greece and its residents by its creditors directly infringes on the human rights of Greeks and is "illegal, illegitimate and odious," according to the preliminary report issued on Wednesday by the Truth Committee on Public Debt.

Truth Committee...sounds so official.

What enforcement power do they have?

If the preliminary outcome of the "Truth Committee" investigation turns out the same as the final one, then the next step is the UN vote for the country's debt. If this turns out to be the same, then the country is eligible for loan refinement and/or cancellation (in rare circumstances). Also criminal & economic charges to the parties involved will be pursued.

I wish Ireland had of had the balls to declare their debt odious too.. (which it clearly was) and take the same route Greece is now considering.

As far as any thoughts of Greece abandoning the euro and adopting Bitcoin.

1. Greece will not default, they'll get bailed out. Any hyped news is just posturing by one side or the other for leverage.
2. Hardly anyone in Greece knows about Bitcoin. They are not a technologically advanced country where Bitcoin would be able to be of much use. Try telling the old Greek voter that they now have to use digital money backed by cryptography.
