Nice little pump this morning, hopefully we can stay above 240 USD, I was beginning to think those damn bears & dumpers might push us into the 230's. Mondays are always interesting as some people can't get fiat into their banks over the weekend. We'll see what today brings, any chance we could cross the 250 USD barrier?

They stated they would stop the stress test after 24 hours at 13:00 GMT Tuesday June 23. However, nobody has reported anything definite in the thread yet. Ultimate Bitcoin Stress Test - Monday June 22nd - 13:00 GMT...... we will stop pushing transactions after 24 hours at 13:00 GMT Tuesday June 23.

The OP of the stress testing thread says it's now started and he posted a chart to show what's happening. I had doubts whether the stress test was a lie, but it seems like it might be legit after all. testing has started. |

It's to do with the block size argument that's been dragging on. They are hoping that by spamming the network they can demonstrate we need bigger blocks. The OP of the stress test thread explains their rationale. ......
Bitcoin is at a breaking point, yet the core developers are too wound up in petty arguments to create the required modifications for long term sustainability. If nothing is done, Bitcoin will never be anything more than a costly science project. By stress testing the system, we hope to make a clear case for the increased block size by demonstrating the simplicity of a large scale spam attack on the network.
