Good morning gentlemen, another little price rise I see, maybe the bears are losing their strangle hold after all?

It's possible the twins have been off-loading coins since the ATH, to fund their Gemini/ETF ventures and hedge.

Now they are buying back those coins cheaper ...

Seeing these images, couldn't someone make a profit out of the price difference? By arbitaging.

Maybe I could but I think you must have a way to send you $$ quickly between the exchanges. Transfering BTC goes quickly, money does take a bit longer I guess.

why is ltc dropping while btc is rising?

has anyone a idea about that?

because ltc is useless altcoin, there is no point using ltc. unlike eth, dash, etc they actually offer something new

Interesting theory. I don't know, it's possible but hopefully that is the truth because it'd mean the price will continue to rise. I'm sick of being stuck in the 200's.

Imagine that last week the price on BitStamp was $242 and on BTC-e it was $240.

Your plan: Sell 10 bitcoins on BitStamp, transfer money to BTC-e and buy bitcoins at $240.

You sell your 10 bitcoins and have $2420. You withdraw your dollars to your bank (takes 3 days). You send your dollars through the crazy hoops you have to jump through for BTC-e to get your money on there losing $40 in fees.

Finally today you have $2380 on BTC-e and buy bitcoins at $258/BTC.

You now have 9.2 bitcoins.

Profit?

Well I am not that experienced in trading, just wanted to know if such thing maybe possible. Maybe you could do it by arbitraging altcoins I guess.

Someone probably is. It's a risky undertaking, though - you need to keep both BTC and fiat on a range of exchanges so you (or your bot) can move fast when the opportunity arises. There used to be a Google docs spreadsheet (back when MtGox was still active) showing arb opportunities - but the biggest opportunities always involved exchanges where you probably wouldn't want to keep fund for any length of time.

We've been in a strong Lower Rule of Thirds. Let's see if 270 breaks or back to 235.

I am so conditioned to expect huge dumps after a small rise, that the lack of starts to feel uncomfortable.

$4.51 up already today on Bitstamp. This is certainly more interesting than yesterday or the day before that. I wonder if the price will be able to hold above $260 or at least $250. It would be nice to move away from $230 (even though there's nothing wrong staying with that either). This is the highest price since mid August.
