Profit is realized when you close the trade, in whatever currency you happen to be using as the unit of account (typically your home currency).
So when I sold my Bitcoin for 7000 CNY, I did not realize my profit? Capital Gains Tax seems to think I did...

So those traders who sold at $2000 and thought Christmas had come early get screwed. If Gemini had a safety mechanism the error wouldn't have happened, It should compensate the traders who lost out. Bter has a warning box when you place an order with an excessive price. If Bter can do it, Gemini should have done it.

good news is that at least we have double bottom at 325, and we have tested higher low. bad news is trading volume still anemic...
Double Bottom at $325? Where? You mean on that long consolidation range which has failed to break out, and is now looking foreboding as hell?

Trade closed, profit realized. What is it you don't understand? Your contradiction? I am not using the Renminbi as my unit of account.

Well, I may be wrong, but the rules here seem to state that the consideration from the disposal of an asset in a foreign currency should be measured in Sterling: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/cgmanual/CG78310.htmAnyway, it doesn't matter, you know that as a prime example of the degenerate I'd...

I was negatively affected by this trade reversal decision, and I think that it is really bullshit and unprofessional for them to authorize a reversal based merely on user error. If they were to authorize such reversal based on a technical glitch or a hacker, that would probably be a more justifiable reason. I'm going to attempt to communicate with them about honoring my trade (even if they personally have to absorb the cost (mine had been filled and subsequently reversed at merely in the mid $370s... those fuckers), and if they do not side with me, then I am likely going to discontinue using their services and pull my bitcoins (and fiat) from their exchange. Again, this is really bullshit, and goes to show really bad judgement in their lack of credibility building foresight.

Sorry 'bout the reversal and stuff, but:
"...and goes to show really bad judgement in their lack of credibility building foresight."
How do you build these amazing sentences?
What does it even mean?
Do you work for an insurance company?
