One more interesting thought that crossed my mind...
If Classic takes control and starts jacking up the block-size aggressively like many expect (Most of the proponents are XT/BIP101 refugees who believe in democracy guiding the development principles so this is an extremely likely future if Classic takes over).
Than that new big block fork better pray that satoshi either lost his keys or isn't an anarchist or libertarian sitting on 750k- 1.2 million coins. That is a frighting fact for everyone regardless which side we take. Anarchists tend to be ethically principled and may do rash actions against what many people consider as normal behavior. Everyone should support and follow their mind/heart ... and please don't take the above like a threat ... it is just an interesting dilemma and risk we all have.
There is no question a split in Bitcoin will cause some permanent damage to both coins longterm perceived value as a store of value... but it won't be that bad because:
1) A fork would essentially be a stock split where most of the value would be kept and possibly be profitable 2) All currencies fail and "fork/change" throughout history, why should bitcoin be any different?

... Personally I'm not discounting the possibility of satoshi returning to officially declaring it a failure and disassociating himself from the post-forking power grab.
Newsflash: Satoshi disassociated himself left this forum a long time ago, because thou eaten of the Altcoin Tree, whereof He commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat. So live now in eternal terror of your God, for God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies. Yes, that means you

voluntary, non-mining full nodes. Being trivial to manipulate, they're irrelevant. Or, rather, far less relevant than wallets. Don't worry about teh nodes. I think this is right. If there's no incentive to run one how are they in principle a relevant part of the system?

The price is still higher than it has been in the past recently, however I do agree that the drop has not been good for Bitcoin. I am not a master of economics, but I think a steady rise is not entirely out of the question for now. We are currently mostly stagnant at $389/$388, and it hasn't dropped severely since then.

Classic release is expected next week. Binaries should come just after that. Be patient.

It is good that blocks are getting filled more and more often. Nothing wrong with that. If you want included, pay higher tx fees. If not, you'll wait. Of course, spam must be filtered out.

You seem scared. Those who solely support Core are getting scared. So scared in fact that they're now discussing a change of PoW if Classic hardforks. They are discussing the nuclear option if they don't get their way. Telling.

You seem scared. Wrong. Think again. What will you do when the hard fork happens? He'll stick to the core forklet, and won't be able to spend his BTC anywhere. Which is all well and good: BTC is not for spending, it's for hodling.
