Get ready for lift off gents. Trump will force Mexico onto Bitcoin. https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/pay-for-the-wallOn day 1 promulgate a "proposed rule" (regulation) amending 31 CFR 130.121 to redefine applicable financial institutions to include money transfer companies like Western Union, and redefine "account" to include wire transfers. Also include in the proposed rule a requirement that no alien may wire money outside of the United States unless the alien first provides a document establishing his lawful presence in the United States.
Looks like Mr. Trump is gonna have to ban Bitcoin to make his Mexican Paywall work. He probably won't tho. Right? g... guys? Good luck banning decentralized exchanges like Bitsquare. https://bitsquare.io/"One may describe Bitsquare is as a fully decentralized version of LocalBitcoins,"...Yay! More shady meetups with cp vendors and drug dealers! You can use SEPA, OKpay, etc. The exchange is just starting, but it has lots of potential. At least, it is impossible to take down. ... or registered fiat transactions to aforementioned lost souls. Don't get me wrong, I'm curious to see how this works out, but I'll probably watch from the sidelines. The anarco nutters will probably fap their back out with this though.

ELI5 who I wire actual irl money to, and why it won't get stolen immediately. 1) The bitcoins are programmed to be released only when two of three people agree that the money has been received. 2) When the money gets to your bank account you and the buyer release your coins. 3) If you lie about it, the buyer and a random aribitrator release your coins. Not sure that I would trust it... but seems legit.

You're wasting your breath. Pearls before swine. Thank gawd we have a prime minister who has no more vote than any other minister, and not some despot with absolute powers (and a veto).

I think decentralized exchanges are very important because they kind of make bitcoin(crypto) impossible to ban.

That video fried my brain when it came out. Everyone, from the norwegian news site where I originally saw it to the youtube comment section, seem to think what he's saying is correct. I got IT crowd flashbacks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTBsm0LzSP0

I released the bitcoins. 2 days later my bank calls me and says the person's account that sent me the money was hacked and that they needed to refund the 180 euro. Nothing I could do at that point.

Why not become 20 arbitrators (or whatever they're called) on OB, and charge your clients (BTC they would lose/2) to see their coin again? ... 2 days later my bank calls me and says the person's account that sent me the money was hacked and that they needed to refund the 180 euro. Nothing I could do at that point.
Another good idea.

Reading through their whitepaper this morning I see things like "transaction limit of 1 bitcoin" listed as security features, so I am pretty skeptical. Still, chargebacks are possible with e-Bay and yet things work. Perhaps a reputation system will make it all work in the end, or maybe a bunch of people will be scammed for a ton of money. How exciting to find out!

... chargebacks are possible with e-Bay and yet things work. ... That's because eBay/PayPal is a trusted third party, which intervenes on your behalf. Also linked to IRL identities & bank/PP accounts. People tend to behave better with jackbooted government thugs around, that's just how it is
