I just watched the most ridiculous Bitcoin COIN ETF hit piece on Bloomberg video: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2016-12-19/winklevoss-twins-prepare-first-ever-bitcoin-fundConstant pictures/ video spliced in of 'physical bitcoins' in the background (which everyone knows are collectable and not the real bitcoin, makes it look like a toy), the interviewee pointing out negative after negative, etc. Both the interviewer and the interviewee were literally laughing and scoffing at the idea of an ETF the whole time, like it was one big joke. It's like the Media has an agenda to keep Average Joe investors skeptical of Bitcoin and scared away from touching it, and especially investing in the ETF.

Seemed like they were laughing more at the idea of a bitcoin ETF than at bitcoin itself. I actually think he made some good points. https://twitter.com/VinnyLingham/status/835145632998387713EDIT: for instance, he says in the Bloomberg video that it makes more sense to buy bitcoins directly than to buy the ETF. Gotta agree with that, no?

Congratulations to all fellow Brits
Yes! The fall in Sterling is partly responsible, but I'll take that anyway. Debt in GBP, earnings in USD/BTC. Same here, the one silver lining to Brexit has been the increase in value of my non-GBP assets.

I agree with the guest and it seemed pretty reasonable for a corporate media piece. You're better off holding bitcoins than an etf and it will "catch on" due to mistrust of central banking.

Gotta agree with that, no? Yes I agree, for individual retail investors. But for mutual fund investors, the ability to add a Bitcoin ETF to their 401K investment fund portfolio might make sense long term. In fact, it is the only way some funds can invest/divest $$$ (they can't purchase the underlying commodity directly). Investing in 401Ks is also pre-tax and employer matched.

Morning disappointment. i didn't even know anybody is trading bitcoin/usd on yobit! last time i checked that site, their orderbook was pretty thin. and when i say thin it means orders with the size as big as 0.0001-0.001 BTC volume the biggest one was some under price bid with 0.1 BTC volume. price is 1234 USD now

$1244 on bitstamp! That's the old Gox ATH of $1242 broken, and stamp beat bitfinex to it. I expected bitfinex to get there first.

A fine early good morning Bitcoinland.
Seems we've already accomplished several things on our to-do list.
ATH, check.
Gox finally laid to rest, check.
Gold ounce parity, check.
$20B market cap, check.
All is well in Bitcoinland... currently $1224USD at Bitcoinaverage.
Let's not stop here. Go Bitcoin go.
