Let's play some poker. Is he hiding something? Is it yes or a no? Im sure he knows. I have a personal theory, I think it will not pass and they have pumped and dumped it to showcase how volatile the market can be (which is a good thing since bitcoin is still tiny, so it means there is an huge upwards potential) but those bureaucrats don't like volatility and will use it as an excuse to not pass it. Of course, maybe it passes and we are sitting on 3000 by tomorrow... we'll see. My biggest concern right now is BUcoin and the china Psyops Jihan Wu in order to become the dictator of bitcoin. Hopefully we can get rid of these cunts without killing the entire project in the process. From this thread: http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1820822Kind of funny actually. Translation: "Stop asking about bitcoins and let's continue with major events to shape the U.S economy." I suspect the ETF is done under closed doors and has nothing to do with this Evidence Summit??

I think bitcoin is too cheap for etf trading in US stock exchange. Do not get me wrong - I would love to see it but bear in mind, the Wall Street guys are not playing with millions or with tens of millions but rather with hundreds of milions. Try to buy bitcoins worth of say 100 million usd. There is not enough coins for sale at even close to current price. The price should go like 100-1000 times higher from here to satisfy the hunger of the wall street.

Sorry for the "off" but what's new about the china exchanges withdrawal issue? Didn't they halted transactions until yesterday only?

That was extended. No specific extension date though. That's why the price was down about $100 the past few days.

MarketWatch journalist Ryan Vlastelica reported earlier that an SEC representative had similarly confirmed the planned move.

It almost seems as if someone is trying to buy without moving the price too much. Insider info?

Being the government and it being a Friday, I would expect the announcement to be before 4PM EST.

No matter what we cannot give this 100% credibility; however, the question becomes how much credibility does this deserve? Better than 50/50? 30%, 80% or some other fair assessment of Coindesk? Based on what little I know about Coindesk, at this point, I would give it around a 63.481023337% give or take 1.5%...

When you think the price tonight will be either 850 or 1700 USD... it's kind of wild.

The thing is if it gets approved, none of us are selling. if it gets rejected are you selling?
market will temporarily drop but then proceed with going up. Japan will have an ETF i assume soon as they aceept it as a form of payment now.

I know nothing about the workings of the SEC - but is it normal practice to leave a decision so late after 3 years to mull it over ?
Is it possible that the ETF gets the go ahead by default ie. no formal decision given ? That way the SEC doesn't exactly give the ETF (or btc) a ringing endorsement, but let it through nonetheless. Kind of a win win situation for the SEC, if you see what I mean.
Could the final decision be that there is no decision ?
The SEC has run out of delays. If not denied by Monday 13 the BATS rule change that will allow COIN will be approved by default. Just monitor https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/batsbzx.htm
