Maybe thats it. Then we dont have to worry. But what if it is because of the hard fork rumours? Vinny lingham sold his stash because of it. Africoin takes it in his charts. Vinny Lingham is right most of the time. It just looks strange to me thats all.
Please post me the link where he explicitly says that he sold his BTC stash!! I checked his tweets and can not find any!! Imo you're overstating! Let the alts pump! This bubble will obviously burst! What are you afraid of?

If you have to keep your money in a currency that is specifically created to lose value as a feature, you're doing it wrong. Hopping back and forth between currencies is the source of most problems when it comes to crypto.
If you hope to get rich while sitting on your wealth while doing nothing, then you're doing it wrong Nah, most of my wealth has come from working 12 hour days, 7 days a week, 365 days a year in a war zone. Bitcoin has just increased that wealth and been a good way to protect it from losing value.

WTF happens with kraken? One thing is stop losses that takes ages to execute.... but now I have a market order "hanging" for minutes without execution... this is a joke!
Been happening for many months, and is even confirmed by them. Their engine is GOX-like, and their support tickets takes weeks to reply sometimes. Trust me, that market order wont execute, and the stop order can take 36 hours to execute. I kid you not.

That's absolutely ridiculous, those afflicted should join up and put forward a scam accusation on them, get a bunch of attention and either force them out or force them to fix it.. The worst things I experience in crypto are exchanges failing to execute my orders, WDs, and deposits.. Nothing can screw up a good arb like a flaky exchange..

I learned to not ever use stop loss orders again in Kraken as they would either not execute or execute at the worst possible price long time after it should have executed (I even saw the price rebounding above and below my stop loss several times before execution) but... a MARKET order? This is the last straw for me...

I think a factor in the high price is that people who thought it would be safer to wait until an ETF was available to get in because of institutional protection, their lack of tech knowledge, whatever, have realised they don't get that luxury and have starting buying directly. This is a bit of a silk road v2 situation IMO, everyone thought the value was due to X and then X vanishes and it retains the value = collect jaw drop and then FOMO.
Yup. Hardware wallets are selling out fast. Why use an ETF when you can hodl your bitcoins at home on a Trezor? (If you can find one to buy). ^paper wallets a thing of the past? :\ Someone who was hoping to click his brokerage site button to buy bitcoin ETF is not going to bother with figuring out how to work paper wallets ... but some of them might take the plunge with an ezy pezy hardware wallet. The demand is still there, it is just very latent, lazy and waiting for convenience. But some of that latent ETF demand will make it to market ... say 5-10% conservatively of the expected, what was it?, $300 million in the first week they were spouting about. soothbys paper wallets inkoming ! ha

Can someone tell me whats wrong about hardfork?
From what i understand hardfork will less to splitting bitcoin to two versions: old wih 1 MB blocks and new BU or SegWit. Whats the problem with that?
And one more question - if i have 10 BTC, Whats gonna happen when there will be hardfork announced? How coins will be splitted into new and old version?
The thing that really counts that makes Bitcoin worth anything is trust and confidence. A contentious fork, no matter whether that's one from the 'good' guys or the 'bad' guys shakes that quite significantly however you want to frame it. If something potentially unhealthy can be pushed through when many are unwilling that doesn't set a good precedent for future battles. There may be many more controversies - privacy, changing the total amount, changing the block reward etc. It doesn't really matter if an alt forks, that's just one of many. It does matter if the foundation of the entire scene can be wobbled in this way. Then again perhaps that's exactly what's needed to break out of this deadlock. It's getting old now. And assuming both chains survived, you'd have the exact same amount of coins on both chains. Thanks for this clear and good reply (& question).

The fun fact is that most alt coin pump and dumpers try to make more bitcoins instead of fiat currencies. Bitcoin has a bright future.
Till btc forks because of no block size consensus. Hard to have consensus without dialog

I think it is primarily being used to fear mongering purposes to supress the price of Bitcoin while they pump up the scamcoins.

^we just got to find a way to find a middle ground ~ piss EVERYONE off ! :-D lol yeah, if it was a political debate that would be the way forward ... except it isn't, it is about the best technology to function as money on the Internet. This latest ploy by the political animals is a contentious Miner Activated Hard Fork - MAHF which is probably the most dangerous way forward imaginable as it is essentially indistinguishable from a hostile miner 51% attack, even if the idiotic participants are completely genuine in their desire for a 'better' bitcoin, the way they are going about it is crazy ... and it has probably already been co-opted by those wishing to stir up more trouble and mischief, if not yet then it will be. The poor well-intentioned BU crowd have become the poster children for 'useful idiots', seriously. A less than palatable User Activated Soft Fork- UASF is less dangerous but even so not the ideal way forward to increasing bitcoin's native capacity, on or off chain. There is a slim hope for a white knight, 'third way' marvel of technology, solution to emerge from the mist but that window is closing.

How do you know the pumpers cash out in btc and not in fiat currencies? I have my sources; people that participated et cetera. They talk up their alt coins and how they are superior to bitcoin, but in the end they are quick to buy back their bitcoins.

if we break above 1250, I'm fairly certain we're going to go to 1300 pretty fast, after that we'll probably be seeing a new ATH set weekly.
