The price of Bitcoin continues to rise at a considerable pace. Even if a correction of about $ 100 would occur it would be kept at a very interesting price. I don´t know if this correction will take place, on the one hand we have accumulated many days breaking records but on the other hand it´s possible that we are simply before the effect on bitcoin of the news coming from Japan and that this wave will continue to advance.

An Eth shill came up with the best description of the Bitfinex situation:

I won't be surprised if it turns out that the fiat withdrawal problems at BFX were deliberate, so could unload their own bags at a premium price on their own exchange. It wouldn't be surprising if they go full gox with money going missing either. Anyway people who deal with them will probably loose one way or another.

The second those charts turned bad for bitcoin and the market began to roll over, Bitfinex immediately pulled the plug on withdrawals right at the top of the cliff.  Then, instead of going down, they forced a short squeeze of basically every single customer on their entire exchange, plus forcing all cash holders to dump fiat and buy bitcoin to be able to remove anything from the exchange at all, and here we are now in some absurd bubble with $100 spreads or more between all exchanges.

This would be the nightmare scenario. And the timing fits. But what evidence do we have that BFX initiated the fiat problems? I though it was Wells Fargo (remember the so-called lawsuit against Wells Fargo they pulled).

I was one of those peeps. Yes it was hard, at one point I had got to the stage where I had decided that I would HODL until it went to zero and then put it down to a lesson in what NOT to do in the future (at the time I had around 10 BTC).
As things turned out (so far anyway) seems like it wasn't such a bad idea after all (I have since increased my holdings substantially).
I guess the underlying faith comes from whether you believe in the tech or not, and I always thought that Bitcoin was a good idea.

I've got a good sized stash of coins that I keep in cold storage, been buying & HODLING for years. I'm happy with my stash & plan to HODL for a good few years yet.

Would love to buy another 10-15 coins though but feels too much of a risk at these prices. Is anybody considering buying more at these prices? When I say more I don't mean 1 or 2.

Don't think I'm going to buy any more unless we go back to around $1000. Seems stupid saying that because I'm pretty sure we'll see $5000 in a couple of years.

Thoughts?

It all depends on your particular situation. For someone buying 10-15BTC could mean more than doubling their current stash, and for them that could be a risky investment to do while at ATH. I would at least wait for some dip/correction or do it gradually. Also, for someone that already have 1000+ BTC buying 10-15 would not change much....

If you were SURE that BTC will be $5000 in a couple of years, obviously you should buy as much as you could afford... But you are not really SURE, noone is. And even if you could somehow be absolutely SURE, you could still think that a correction could lower the price from what it is now... and buy there.

That said, yes, I consider buying some more, the same as I do consider selling some depending on the situation. I have my long term stash that I don't plan to touch in years, and a 20-40% that I trade regularly to keep increasing my main stash. I also sometimes add some fiats funds to my trading stash when I feel like and regularly keep moving profits to my long term stash.

I have never transferred any FIAT back so I would say I am still buying and have no plans to stop yet. But my new deposits are gradually being less and less in comparison to my ever increasing stash value.

In the end of the day, you are on your own.

I'm in Bitcoin since 2013, making money was never my main goal.

Financial freedom means a lot more to me, stepping out from this Zionist-Jew Pyramide Ponzi Fiat Debt Slave Banking System is i think one of the most important things we can do and Satoshi gave uss Bitcoin!

Yhea, it was rough times but i knew Bitcoin will rise again, no problem. Of course making profits is nice in fact i'm sitting on a shit tons of profits which is very nice indeed.

When i think about it what i've seen these years for bullshit;

- Gox, finex, Stamp hack and more
- Bad actors
- Fud
- China Bans
- Media declared Bitcoin ''dead'' for more than 100 times. I've seen walls of text with complete bullshit.
- Even more Fud
- Trolls
- Scams
- Co-worker, friends and even my own family thought i was losing grib on reality. Crazy Bitcoiner etc etc.
- Epic dumps

There will be more this is just popping out of my head.

An Eth shill

ETH made me a nice profit in a years span. I sold more then a month ago and I haven't bought it back since. Too much of it is held up by polo and I'm uncertain if they aren't playing a game with funny money over there. I'll trade eth again when the market looks real again. Til then, there are a lot of cryptos out there to play with Smiley

Another early but very good morning Bitcoinland.

Another day, another leg up, another ATH... currently $1575USD (Bitcoinaverage) and continuing to rise as I type.

How long can it keep going at this pace before a serious correction? It's nice to see small corrections as it goes up but this is crazy.

We all know this is largely being spurred by recent legal changes in Japan but is it also part of a greater global adoption? Is the s-curve finally nearing the point of going vertical?

yes, when we will have a solution for scaling activated in BitCoin later this year or next year we will go vertical.

at the latest after the next halfing in 2020.

^^^ This

All my investment in Bitcoins is based on a target price of around $10.000 for 2020. Maybe I am right or maybe I am not, but all that I am doing now I am doing it taking into account a decent probability of that target price in that time lapse.

Also, It is not that I plan to cash out when that happens, but it is also my bet that by that time, if the prediction has been fullfilled, I would be able to directly spend from my BTC stash for my everyday purchases.

And I also bet that this is exactly the "plan" of most people around here. Am I wrong?

What price does BTC have to hit in order to obtain mainstream media coverage? Once this happens the sky is the limit. I remember getting in on the last parabolic rise due to seeing it everywhere in the media.

I remember for a sustained period a couple of years ago there were dozens of posters laughing at us, mocking 'bag holders' as the price dived all the way back into the $200's.

Who's laughing now!

On a serious note, i had a ton of fun trolling the fuck out of you guys with my colleagues NotLambChop, Fonzie, the great prof. Stolfi and the rest. Somebody had to do it

When I first invested in Bitcoin, I told myself that one of three things had to happen first before I started to take advantage of my investment:

1) 7 years have passed (target: 2020)

2) A minimum of $5K/btc (stable exchange rate, not just a brief peak)

3) I can buy the house of my dreams directly with bitcoin and no middle man. Also merchant adoption everywhere in the world, and all major online merchants.

None of these conditions have happened yet, so we'll see how it goes. Still waiting...
