I don't understand how BTC/USD price affects ETH/USD price? When BTC/USD is crashing, ETH/BTC goes up. That I can understand somehow. But my mind gets boggled when I try to figure why then ETH/USD then goes up? Maybe I just need some sleep...

That would make sense. There will be pause at 3200-3500 level, perhaps even small correction before we test new all time high at 4500, perhaps as soon as july.

Then we will see where this goes. I have strong doubts we can make 10k during this summer - and it would not be healthy for the market either, overheating it severely.

We will see.

I don't see it playing out like this. I'm thinking continuation of exponential run-up till end of June, probably hitting 4000s, but possibly more, then a crash in July in anticipation of UASF. Assuming a successful outcome, a new rally can begin some months later.

If miners actually agreed on a scaling solution, then maybe this rally might extend higher to 9000s, but I'd not wager good odds on that.

Increase isn't as dramatic and plenty of people here have sat through the 2013 disaster. Times have changed, perhaps for the better. This exponential rise isn't good long term, but short term I like the trend.

I remember so called financial experts popping up on CNBC in late Nov. 2013, when price first hit $1000, saying that Bitcoin would be hitting $2000 "soon". Not only were they wrong, they were off by 4 full years.

I'm fine with going up 200% every 4 years. See you in 2021 at $5000/btc.

We weeded out the weak hands last time around. Now it's mostly just the real traders and HODLers left Smiley We are still up this week, so there isn't much to worry about. Even if we go in the red a correction was somewhat expected.

Most of the people from 2013 predicting double digit coins are missing, and the next wave of newcomers hasn't started yet. After a mega ATH they will eventually discover bitcointalk, then discover this thread a month or two later. Our voices will be lost in the noise of newbies by then.

Me too. Which at that rate, would still spank every other investment vehicle on the planet.

People need to lower their expectations.

I still know a few guys back from 2013 still here, although they post  a lot else frequently than before; I only joined the train in late 2014. I plan on staying for a while longer, the more newbies, the more FUD and misguided investors as well as misinformation.

Long ago I was active on IRC. AOL floppy disks started including a link to some web-based IRC portal. Many, many channels were completely overwhelmed volume-wise with a flood of newbies. Even though there was a FAQ link, they would ignore it and continually climbed over each other asking the same "how do I" and "what is this" questions.

Finally some enterprising channel OPs simply started banning everything from AOL.

The more widespread the adoption, the lower the 5-percentile IQ level drops. This is something we need to prepare for with a more granular solution than outight banning of stupid people.

why not to open a cheap one @ 3k? Fair reasons are there for those who bought in middle 2015.
