Technically, we're only marginally above the 2013 price if you adjust for inflation . In 2013 I wanted to buy a house costing £430,000.
Now in 2017, the house is back on the market for £760,000.
Yeah, official inflation numbers are hilarious.

I found a site that lists acres of land for cheap. Like 50 acres or 100 acres for $20,000 USD to $40,000 USD. So far I've just been looking at the United States and Canada on it. LandWatch.com
I think I found it from another site that talked about homesteading. It's not a decentralized nation like seasteading, but I kinda like getting lost in my own woods, looking for honey.

if i was in america or canada i wouldn't bother buying any land. both places are so empty outside the cities no one would ever find you anyway. 95% of canada has probably never been stepped on by a human.

I don't understand how BTC/USD price affects ETH/USD price? When BTC/USD is crashing, ETH/BTC goes up. That I can understand somehow. But my mind gets boggled when I try to figure why then ETH/USD then goes up? Maybe I just need some sleep...
Logically: ethusd = ethbtc*btcusd when the trading between eth, btc, usd is frictionless and at (maybe temporary) equilibrium. So if btcusd is dropping and ethbtc is rising, the product could go either way. No great trading insight there, but the model might help.

West Texas is very cheap. Plenty of land to be had. It's in middle of nowhere though but you'll be left alone.

The problem with not owning the land is you might be trespassing, unless it was a public park, and of course you can't build anything on land you don't own, say if you wanted to make a small house (or a large one). I saw one plot for about half an acre, that's still 15,000 square feet, and it had roads around it, with water, electricity and telephone service available, for only $13000. It's like a dollar per square foot. You could build a mini castle. http://www.castlemagic.com/Or make a duplicate of Bin Laden's cement compound that is gone now. Zombie Proof! You're still in the middle of somewhere, but far enough from the city you could probably be left alone.

Awesome interview with Andy Hoffman about Bitcoins and PMs markets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlMKI9fcLMsI esp. like his last minute comments @ around 35 min mark about Bitcoin vs. Altcoins. This is information we all know already, but I still think a lot of altcoin lovers haven't done enough research into their altcoin du jour to understand. Andy gets it. Bitcoin is the only one he is remotely interested in, and for good reasons.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Still consolidating after yesterday's excitement... currently $2814USD (Bitcoinaverage).
We had new ATHs on most exchanges, a large correction ($244 at Stamp) and still ended up with a nice green daily candle.
A little sideways wouldn't hurt.
Edit: Someone came to the door while I was typing and it dropped $35. Ouch.

No, bitcoin is not down mate. Are you using the US market to study the price of bitcoin because presently the US market is following the Japanese and South Korean markets price moves.

I'll be back later to debate the definition of down with you. In the meantime, why not kick back and enjoy this Motown classic. Ladies and gentlemen, Gladys Knight and the Pips!

No, bitcoin is not down mate. Are you using the US market to study the price of bitcoin because presently the US market is following the Japanese and South Korean markets price moves. It's down on the Japanese markets too. It's 304699 JPY on bitFlyer, which had an ATH of 322900 JPY recently. These dips are necessary for sustainable price growth. If it goes up too fast without dips it always ends in a big crash. https://bitcoinity.org/markets/bitflyer/JPY

I suspect that there will be a massive alt drop soon and a big resulting pump in BTC, but I think the whales will keep the alts inflated for a bit longer to draw more people in - will be interesting to see what happens over the next weeks

The bull run isn't finished yet imo. Again some consolidation going on at the moment. The market wants the $3k and it will get it! Regarding the altcoins I have no clue when the bubble will pop. But it will pop some day. And then the question is in how far this will have an influence on Bitcoin. Either it will be the fuel and push BTC even higher or it will take BTC down as well.
