Whoever thinks bitcoin can't be destroyed with ease when it's network traffic isn't even obfuscated should take a look at the case of The Daily Stormer, who big corporations have essentially censored it from the internet in a time span of two days:

https://blog.cloudflare.com/why-we-terminated-daily-stormer/

https://www.rferl.org/a/u-s-neo-nazi-website-russian-domain-daily-stormer/28680409.html

First they came for the nazis, but I didn't speak out, because I was not a nazi.

You understand the technical differences between a server-based Hosting and DDoS Protection and a decentralized peer-to-peer Network?

It also highlights why Bitcoin is so important. Imagine if the jews had bitcoin during WWII.

Hi bitserve,

How is a paper wallet not protected if a pc is compromised?

Paper wallets are vulnerable at any of the following moments:

- When created: Private key generation vulnerability or PC compromised.
- When redeemed: PC compromised.

They are also vulnerable in case of physical compromise during storing.

It seems the security vuln in Trezor firmware would also require physical access plus a not so simple firmware update with a hacked firmware to get access to private key.

Anyone concerned about potential physical exploits should go Ledger way. The secure element is a great enhacement in that aspect.

Armory talks about lots of security issues in their glacier protocol
link to Glacier from https://www.bitcoinarmory.com

I have a clean laptop that never sees the internet or wifi, it's got  Amory installed, and creates transactions offline, these are broadcast from an online machine that I use for everyday things and it doesn't really matter if its compromised. (transfer transactions between machines using a USB stick)
You can create and redeem paper wallets with very nearly 100% safety,

Well, that is somewhat safe. But I still don't see the advantage in security over a hardware wallet while I see the less convenience in usage.

it's called trolling, and shows a bit of click-bait desperation to attempt some kind of non-topical discussion - NOT that this thread has any meaningful ability to stay on topic... but this three links click bait goes a bit over board in the "off-topicness" arena... hahahahaha... but can be kind of funny because you can see a kind of desperation ... let't talk about this, or this, or this or this... in order to not talk about the great things going on in bitcoin right now, including the fact that we seem to be in the midst (or possibly the beginning stages) of an s-curve adoption phase (could be a bubble that takes us to $20k before we experience any significant correction?)

[...] I predict a lot of resistance at $6666.

Had a bit of a déjà vu:
Is it my imagination or does Bitcoin tend to gravitate towards $666

Someone is a big believer in the bible and the reference to 666.

They are pushing their belief in Christianity through a Bitcoin price trying to link Bitcoin and Christianity.

Some huge religious fanatic with a lot of bitcoins is really going out of their way to spread God's word.

Wonder if Luke has any coins left.

I agree, Trezor or other hardware wallet is probably sufficient for most people.
But as the amount increases there is a point where a wallet in which you don't control everything is not good enough.

As an extreme example If you had Satoshi's $4Billion, would you trust a hardware wallet such as Trezor, which if stolen a few weeks ago  could have been stripped of coins in 10mins via a previously unknown attack vector, the only defence you would have is obscurity. (an attacker didn't know that you had a Trezor and that it could be attacked). - "security through obscurity is no security at all"

3840€, nice.

Only a few months ago my plan was to spend all my coins when buying a house, along with all my stock.

Now I have sold half my stock to buy more coins and I don't want to sell them, I'll go for a cheaper house paid only with the remaining stock and a mortgage.

The question now being, how to make my coins grow ?

Just another artificial pump. All of you just need to pray that those few  who are actually controlling the whole BTC market will not dump it all in the next few weeks.

When the dollar finally has its crashing part, these times will look like cheap times.
Argentina just got an exchange. A shit storm is a brewin...

Most of btc's early adopters are truth and liberty seeking folks.
Give them more credit...
Lol, do you really believe in this freedom and liberty shit?
Bitcoins were created by some very smart people, who most probably are controlling it right now. Who is using bitcoins in real life? Nobody. It is just an artificial medium for  cash laundry, for selling some useless hardware (miners) for very high price.
Many drug  and paedophile dealers are really pleased to have something like bitcoin, so they can do their stuff totally undercover.
That is it. Any mentally  healthy  person wouldnt build his business on BTC, any smart person will invest money in BTC  because it is controlled by few people, and you never know what will happen tomorrow: will they pump it? Or maybe sell everything and wave you bye bye?

2014 post - Love it when a plan comes together.
