Yikes. Just got home from my gig to see new ATHs happening live. Wifi was down at the bar where I was playing so I didn't know what was happenening. OMG  Shocked

Made 100 bucks playing music. Made 100 grand playing Bitcoin.

According to Coinmarketcap each bitcoin and altcashcoin together are worth $5646CAD.

Wow.  Cool

I know the feeling. I remember in 2013 walking into work pumped because I was up 10k over night.

My gf has been visiting me for a few weeks and my wealth has almost doubled since she got here. When I asked her if she wanted to go see a movie she said it was too expensive. I can just watch the movie at home for free.

Yeah, the wealth effect. The crazy rise in bitcoin prices has increased all our net worths.
We are much more comfortable spending now, because of the paper gains we have made.

yeah at 100 btc it is getting quite 'real' .... (I distance myself by telling myself it "MIGHT" be tulip money) easier to do in 2013 at 150 BTC Oct 18th, 2013 then NOW ...let me tell you

sheesh...

One thing good about it...you'd see me walking down the street you'd say.....he barely looks as though he could make 1 car payment

funny thing is...even if it was to correct by 1/3...or so to $2475...it STILL was what $650 last summer of 2016

a lot of mind boggling going on and running into stuff Smiley What freaks me out if what if it goes parabolic like it did from Oct 18th, 2013 to around Nov 25th, 2013 or so past $1000 USD?

man talk about beyond freaked if that would repeat, as an almost 4 years later event

Great thing about this rally is the corrections that are stopping it from going parabolic..but they do still make me panic a bit even though I'm in the black since a long time..

Just bought a Ledger Nano, paper wallets aren't cutting it now  Tongue

Something that makes me laugh...seeing the price ticker on Wisdom for Btc-e..stuck at $2500..how far we have come..

700BTC at this price is some serious money to have on a single exchange that doesn't even have margin trading. The bid wall was completely real, it even endured some hard bites without moving before the price bounced on it.

We are on record historic 24h volume, with over $3 billion.

And still there are 1457 blocks left to Segwit Activation. 5K before that?

Placing a bunch of strategically thought limit orders before going to bed do wonders. I love the smell of closed limit orders in the morning.

I would like to have a meme gif like this one:

But, instead of the disaster behind, something like the guy floating in space while in the background theres a giant rocket with the Bitcoin logo reaching out to mars or something like that. Is there anything similar already or anyone with the amazing skills to make it?

I have the feeling that we will need it soon. Smiley

P.S.: It doesn't need to be mars... Saturn with a ring around with the legend "Segwit - Lighting Network" would also be fine.

yeah, I don't have access to that sort of fancy pants exchange any more, since Kraken abruptly dropped my jurisdiction...I get to execute real time market orders, that's it.    Sad

I think the GIF above is fine, it is the central bank in the back see?

Woop Woop!

Wazzup! Anyone care to guess where this will end?

You were told one month ago. It'll be $500,000 by the end of 2020.

Ok, I'll take it

Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we had another ATH and then a correction/profit-taking this morning back down under $4k but edging back up... currently $4035USD/$5152CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

It's nice to see this strong rally not running away with itself. Meanwhile Altcash is hanging in at $311USD/$395CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Combined value is down a little from last night but still pretty impressive.

Bass.

Back in the 1970s-1980s I earned my living playing 6 nights a week (plus a matinee) for real money. Those days are gone now. May as well be talking about vaudeville.

Now I do it as a hobby and a way to meet younger women, playing single nights a few times a month for barely enough money to cover beer and expenses. A guaranteed $100 per player is considered good money these days. Some places only give you 15% of the cash register and let you collect a cover charge or put out a tip jar, which I consider begging.

Don't underestimate the value of meeting chicks by playing. At my age if I hit on women 20 years my junior, I'd be a dirty old man. If they hit on me, I'm a cool old guy.

Activation expected at ≈Tue, 22 Aug 2017 11:39:41 GMT.
Still 1446 blocks needed for SegWit to activate.
The price could avoid a correction leading up to Segwit. If it does not correct by then, then it shall post activation (but we may see even a higher price at that time).
