Can someone tell me what's the deal with alt coins? Are they holding their $ value? Or is it as bad as it looks?
Theyre holding their fiat value and LTC is actually UP %15 today. Good enough.

Personally since I do not have a large btc stash I was heavy in on alts to try and grow it, so if the fiat value is holding but the btc value is falling then surely thats not good since in order to cash out or if you want to grow your btc stash I am making a loss no?

O hai! We're just being totally vindicated over here. That's all. We were right, they were wrong. No big whoop.

It's a brand spanking new censorship-resistant asset class. What did we think would happen.

Could get picked up by the Brits. I have a feeling its going to be awhile before we buy back in a bit lower (for those who sold a bit after the ATH).

If we get another Classic Bitcoin Bubble, the Alts will languish for a while and suddenly spike upwards like nothing else. In such scenario, I give the spike upwards 2 weeks to begin. These will be millionaire making movements if you invest heavily in Alts.

Just got home from the local. It's still before last call but I had to eat and the (excellent) band finished early. Seems the rally's not done yet. In less than 24 hours we went up over $1000USD/$1250CAD per coin on Bitstamp before dipping a wee. Not a bad day... up a grand, down $200. We all know we're in for a serious correction but $5k is still looking good as a potential bottom. As I'm typing this I see we dropped another $100. Maybe that was it for now. Then again that's what some of us thought earlier and it turned out to be just a minor bump in the road upward. Let's wait and see. In the meantime, many of us earned an obscene amount of money in the last 24 hours. Holding is good. So are corrections. Go Bitcoin go.

How much new money is needed for every 100$ up in price ?
I'm not saying 10K is impossible but so fast, I don't see how.

Also about psychological numbers, I would advise you to look at euro charts (and maybe other currencies too) if you're trading, yesterday there were clearly walls at numbers like 4400€, 4800€, etc.

The only requirement is that nobody is willing to sell for less than previous price plus $100. There is no set formula; simply bids and asks.
