Dont worry, we have Segwit  Smiley
Unconfirmed transactions are just spam, produced by malicious agents with evil intentions in search of power. No real adoption.
Anyway, soon we will have Lightning Network, and Joe will only have to buy Lightning Coins to participate in the "great revolution". The great revolution of the fractional reserve banking 2.0.
And if you think it is not enough, all this with the sponsorship of blocks of 1MB FOREVER! We will have the most decentralized network and nodes in raspberry pi.
So, leave your stupidities and think big!

PS: Seriously, I love the 5000s  Grin  Congratulations to all!

Why do you bother, just repeating all the lies.

There is lots of spam in the mempool you can see the transactions, look at what they contain.
There is no such thing as lightning coins, and it won't support fractional reservere.
Most Core Devs believe that the block size will increase when its actually necessary.
The more people who run a node the better, strength of the network comes from everyone having a stake and not just relying on miners to protect us.
These are not even points for debate, your statements are just lies.

CoinJoin, JoinMarket, Shuffle-what-ever-thingies. ... taint is pretty much useless if someone knew to mix or premix bitcoins. Granted, it's not being done by "normal" people yet, only those in that irc chat room or something that do these transactions. But it will catch on.

We still don't have a usable technology to mix transactions that does not consume even more on-chain block space. Which is, of course, space we don't have on the 1MB4EVAH chain.

#justsayin'

Well this might come to a surprise to you (or you're well aware of this and just trolling  Roll Eyes), but BTC was never meant to be fully anonymous. So yeah it you want to anonymize your coins you have to pay, or wait for sidechains, or if you can't wait use an alt.

Thank god she doesn't listen to her idiot father.

I mean J-coin.... really?

Also, he goes on saying that bitcoin is worthless, yet "Governments will someday crush it." So Mr. Dimon, why would they bother to try and crush it if it is worthless? And how exactly would they do that?

And then he says this about fiat currencies: "And a central bank — of course they can misuse it. The central bank [can also] inflate it. So there is a use case for bitcoin."

Yeah we know that you idiot, that's exactly why we like bitcoin!  Roll Eyes

Haha... very good points there... Personally, I think there is a place for BTC and fiat =)

This!

Many of us may think we know what's best for Bitcoin, but that doesn't mean we're right... Bitcoin has proved itself over the years, its heart beating steadily every 10 minutes since it was born. That's not an easy thing to achieve when you are being attacked constantly 24/7. We must put our trust on experienced coders that have a history of successes in this field, and not some guys like Jihan Wu, Roger Ver, and the likes of them. Any change in code, even a single line or a character, can cause a collapse if the coders don't deeply understand what they're doing.

About the block size, yes, it will increase. Yes, as technology improves, and network speed and storage space increase, it may eventually become much larger than 1 MB. But it should happen in a well planned, carefully controlled and surgically precise manner. Bitcoin has given us so much over the years, and it appears the train is advancing at full speed. Let's keep it that way...

I have mixed feelings about the rise. I locked in my retirement at a lower price. So now I'm not "as rich" as I could be. Best to stop thinking about the "what ifs" and just be happy. Strange feeling though.

Taking your original investment out or some profit off the top is never a bad thing. That's smart. But going all out 100%?

Man Elwar, you gotta realize that if Bitcoin can go to $5400/btc and 99.9% of the population still hasn't bought any yet, then surely you know it'll hit $20K or $50K one day in the future? You gotta keep some in, dude. If you don't then you might be regretting it years down the road.

Oh no...not 100%. Maybe half.

So don’t be too hard on yourself Elwar, like this you can still retire twice. Not too much of a bad situation to be in.

As you know more than anyone else Bitcoin is a deflationary asset. Selling for fiat will make you miss out on future fiat gains.

But investing those dollars in for example dividend paying stocks or real estate paying rent gives a less volatile source of income. It potentially gives a bit of piece of mind, and when it all goes to shit you still have a hedge in Bitcoin which already today you can retire on, again.

Congratulations, you escaped from the hamster wheel.
