I've been warning people about Kraken on here for months.

Thieves...avoid.

I was assimilated when they took over CAVirtex.

Been trying to get my coins off but it has been impossible to login today.   Angry Angry Angry Angry

edit:  and Hitbtc is also down for more than 24 hrs..   Shocked Shocked Shocked

Finally was able to make a Bitcoin withdraw and the tx shows up on the network.  I'm done with Kraken.

I'm done with kraken as soon as i manage to withdraw funds. Haven't prooved ID so can only withdraw tiny bits, after refreshing the withdraw page 20 times, once per day

I gave up trying to log in a loong time ago (last transaction was around the $600/btc range lol).  Honestly don't even remember what I have left there.  It's not much It wasn't much, but could be as much as 1 btc and a few hundred bucks.  Huh Probably not that much, but I think I will wait for a new multi-slice toaster before I exercise that frustration again.

Try again. Really.

[...] moving lots of value around on the internet, as it is designed to.

Getting back to the core proposition of cryptocurrencies still makes me bullish like hell.

Biggest issue with notebooks is and remains to be: HDD storage is always too small in the end
Just install a 1 TB SSD and carry a 4 TB external 2.5 inch HDD in your backpack. At the moment, this should be sufficent to store several blockchains. Most people will have less storage inside their PCs/home "networks". Wink

reading the blocksize observer and watching bitcoin going sideways is boring.

Meanwhile I got me a new notebook. A fanless Huawei MateBook X. After like 10 years with a macbook pro I switched to a windows notebook.

Best parts about this notebook are the fanlessness and the great dolby atmos audio system. Big recommendation from me.
Nice! I just picked up a pair of X1 Carbons myself for work. Damn near indestructible and I love the little nipple/trackpoint.

Uhm..  by the way, that XRP has passed BCH in marketcap from the current pump....

Hilarious.  From one shit coin to another.  Even funnier was the immediate pump to put Bcash back in third place. See that guys? Good coin control from Team Ver.

Sideways for days - means we will go south soon... Watching this pattern for years now. Only one guy needs to start a dump and well be at 4 digits....

I have been watching these patterns for years now, too.  and for the first two years, during 2014 and 2015, there was a tendency to break down after sideways; however, the past two years (2016 and 2017), there has been a tendency to break up, after sideways.

So you seem to be suggesting that we are reverting to the 2014-2015 pattern?  Seems way too early to call that kind of reversion, no?

Need to keep an eye on the alts if they’re pumping then the stall is for that reason. As stated above The scam coins will stop being pumped and the profits will go back to btc.

No pumping BTC untill the whales can cash out of ALT with 100% profit.

Looks like whales had enough profit on ALTS..  Time to go up BTC  Grin Grin Grin

The bears are itching their fingers? I would reconsider. CME will open in four days, some money might flow in, as the funds need to hold bitcoin themselves, in case someone need it delivered in futures.

Honey badger is just taking a nap.

The other futures are cash settled so are you sure they need to hold coins ?

The person with the wall on GDAX really should just execute a market sell order. There's no way that's gonna get bought. We're literally at the top of the precipice and on the verge of the most epic crash in modern market history as bitcoin's failure is completely priced in. 2018 will be the year bitcoin finally dies.

Haha. The world works in funny ways.

I'm sitting in the lounge at SJC - I was working in Silicon Valley so far this week. AAR, when I checked into my hotel the other night, I noticed a newspaper I'd not seen before available amongst the piles of drek such as USA Today. Epoch Times. Intrigued, I grabbed a copy.

This morning, I finally started reading it. There was a great article on the ramifications of Bitcoin that took an entire page in the paper. Once I read it, I thought I oughta share it here. There is an abbreviated version available on the web: https://www.theepochtimes.com/is-bitcoin-just-a-brilliant-wealth-redistribution-scheme-3_2377636.html

And there it is, the 1200+ wall at 17250 @ GDAX
At least 1 sell order of 1000 BTC is in it.

Looks like they waited for the daily close, then it instantly pumped $800. Altcoins like ETH/LTC/XRP that were rallying hard are instantly bleeding. The market seems to expect new all-time highs for BTC. What kind of upside should we expect once price makes new highs?

The wall at Gdax is progressively being walked back as price comes up to meet it. It’s now at 17,250.
