BTC needs to reclaim and the 10 day moving average and show a green candle on the daily. That would do wonders for market confidence.

too soon for that

we need to drop another 3K and get a good base under us

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Alright. I've never been on vacation. Good call.

There's an internship going on my body farm in Kamchatka if you're interested. I like to think we continue in the spirit of Unit 731 but most of the subjects are already dead. Think it over.

I'm going to start to panic soon. I don't like it when Bitcoin goes down a lot, then doesn't come right back up.

Some perspective, Rosewater:

Bitcoin has remained above $10,000 for only 20 days now, and above $15,000 for 10 days. (Bitstamp)

It has traded above $18,000 a whopping 4 days, only 1 of which it remained above $18,000 all day.

Bitcoin IS up, and remains bullish AF. You just need to zoom out on the charts. Start looking at 1 day candles, instead of 1 min. Go for a walk. Try and forget about Bitcoin for a week. A month. A year if you can. Go on vacation. It'll still be here when you return.

The problem with zooming out to the 1 day chart is I see 6 red candles in a row. Perhaps I should move all my measly BTC to exchange and cash out. I'm sure that the moment that I do that, this will be pumped through the stratosphere again.  Cheesy

When will the fees go down?

Will they ever? I don't see much purpose in holding fiat anymore so I want to be able to spend my crypto...

Someone enlighten me on the process of LN and when we could actually expect bitcoin fees and backlog to be lowered.

Friends dont even want to move their bitcoin off of coinbase because its too expensive, if bitcoin is purely going to be a store of value "digital gold" then won't an altcoin eventually take highest market cap?

Possibly, but we've already had 5 red daily candles in a row time to turn green.

The price action at this moment is not looking so bullish though....

920 stinking Satoshis per Byte for a transaction?

I have one wallet with €500 in it, my max spend is €240 with a €260 fee! This really is the future!  Bitcoin Cash isn't the answer, I know, but someone needs to come up with an answer, or people will dump this 'currency' hard soon.

I get the idea that the current crash doesn't have anything to do with the fees though, it's just a random correction.
Had the same thing happen to me.
They are saying 0.028btc in fee to pay soon for all transactions! Angry

That is $425. Are they fucking insane? Roll Eyes

I paid 10 satoshis/byte ( .13cents)  for a largish transaction on the competing chain which shall remain nameless. (It was in the next block)

Yes...... show a bit more of your colors.  Are you gonna claim that bcash is the real bitcoin too, and are you going to claim that bcash has the same network effects as bitcoin?  Yes.  Fees are going to be cheap when no one is using it and when no one even feels inclined to spend any time and resources to spam attack it.  So you may as well trade in all of your bitcoin for Bcash, and then go play on r/btc with the other shills, no?

I have an equal amount of BCH and BTC. So you can crucify me now.

There is nothing wrong with taking whatever position that you believe in, but just get out of here with your delusional talking points pumping Bcash, and take your nonsense trolling to some other thread.

Any idea to remove that stupid snow on cryptowat.ch ?

Top-right corner of main area --> Second icon (one that looks like an 'x') --> "Snow" option --> Untick.

Do you honestly think that the motives of Jihan Wu and Roger Ver are to change the world for the better? Really? Have you followed their actions and their modus operandi? And you have decided to side with them and support Bcash? If that is true, then I'm afraid you are self-disrespecting your own achievements. It's sad, really...

I communicate directly with both of them, have met both in person and had lengthy discussions with each.  I believe they love Bitcoin for the same three four reasons I do:

1. The technology behind bitcoin is interesting and novel; Satoshi solved a long-standing problem in computer science.
2. The adoption of Bitcoin would change the world for the better, by giving us a better form of money.
3. The potential to earn of a huge amount of money.
4. I'm a wannabe felon.

FTFY

Roger Ver has done a huge amount to further Bitcoin adoption.  Perhaps more than anyone else besides Satoshi Nakamoto.  He truly loves Bitcoin and wants to see all of the world adopt it.  That people now abuse him for trying to fix the problem of high fees and unreliable confirmations is heart-breaking for me.

It could easily go to $10k-12k and still be bullish.

Keep in mind there's some robo trading going on, based purely on technicals.

The altcoin market is starting to show a lot of red. This could mean that they are going to crash soon and the money is going to flow to BTC or that they are going to start crashing along side BTC.

Looking at the BTC chart we are stuck in a very well established down channel. I see roughly 4 hits on the support and 4 hits on the resistance. fingers cross we get a bounce off support at 14400, and then a break of resistance at roughly 16000.

One thing that has me concerned about this correction over the other ones this year is the speed. it seems to be a lot slower than the others, I hope this doesn't mean anything.

Well its a possibility but I think maybe a lot of new people coming into alts rather than btc as they see btc as too expensive which means that some not all of them will be thinking long term and ignoring the current price action.

I dont think someone which has just invested say in 5 NEO or whatever coin is going to think about selling because the price starts to drop as its not enough of an investment to warrant worrying about smallish price movements in the short term.

And I suspect there is a lot of people who have entered the scene but have invested less than a 1000 dollars into X-coin and so will not be thinking about selling anytime soon

This actually makes me wonder how much I paid for fees today. I used arbitrage opportunities to transfer coins between exchanges for some trades and ended up with more coins than I sent out. But I didn't really pay attention to whether or not the fees were significant for the BTC transfers...

Bitcoin is digital gold. The network is working perfectly well for institutions and large investors. Nothing to see here.
